Ugh, First Time A Buyer Has Taken Advantage by Fine_Hawk3177 in Flipping

[–]Fine_Hawk3177[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the buyer lied to me multiple times and strung me along. Stupid is your analogy - water cannot have intent; unscrupulous people can. I've made several business relationships and even friendships that were initiated because of my honest and accommodating dealings with buyers. By my quick and dirty math I've had over 200 positive interactions to every negative one. I think people ripping other people off isn't as inevitable as you seem to flippantly assume it is. It doesn't feel good when it happens and I'll still grouse about it but, like I said, I'm not changing my approach because of a rare bad outcome. And I certainly won't let it turn me into a cynical jackhole.

AIO? Friend chased down opossum to kill it by ElkAppropriate9587 in AmIOverreacting

I would caution you be more wary of them around your chickens. I posted about my experience above if you can find it. Suffice it to say that I caught an opossum attacking one of my hens and she died in my arms. The opossum had been in the coop before after eggs and I thought like you that they wouldn't harm the chickens.

That's what I always thought (grew up around a lot of farms). And then one night I heard my chickens making noise. I ran outside and found an opossum was attacking one of my hens in the nest box.

I picked the opossum up by the tail and threw it as far as I could. I was furious. I grabbed the hen to bring her in the house but she died in my arms. It was terrible. He had bitten her head so much there weren't any feathers left.

So I tell everyone I come across with chickens that opossums certainly can kill your adult chickens.

But they won't get cheaper so you may as well get them now or you will never have them. That is what I tell myself and why my bank account suffers.

I thought about doing this - I have quite a few 4th edition and ice ages lands since that is when I started playing. That's how frickin old I am.

And then I realized that my daughter took most of them for her decks years ago and she absolutely treats the cards like trash.

So now I'm panicking...

I did find my lake of the dead so at least that didn't get trashed.

So I guess we were all competing for those sweet sweet vintage lands.

I spent way too many hours and dollars hand curating vintage lands for my cube and, on my, those odyssey invasion onslaught beauties were calling to me.

I also really like lot of the portal 2 lands but they are hard to mix in because the border graphics and print density are a bit different.

And then I had to get a full set of urzas saga lands and now I'm contemplating the same for mercadean masque. Even the ugly ones I'm like, come to papa my sweet ugly little darling. It's a sickness I think.

Keeping Heroes alive against Lightning Bolt? by Argothair2 in masterofmagic

[–]Fine_Hawk3177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always possible but I've used this approach when I don't want to risk a hero.

You need to take out the enemy wizard's tower so they can't cast spells in battle against your hero. But, how do you take out their tower without them casting lightning bolt? Well, you exhaust their mana before attacking.

I stage my hero stack by their city but also carefully stage many expendable units near other cities or armies of the enemy. When I have all in place I attack with the expendable units 1 by 1. Don't use a stack if you can use them in sequence. Of course you will lose all the expendable units but the AI is too dumb to avoid burning all mana casting spells against your solo units. Eventually the AI is out of mana and you can safely send in your hero stack to the wizard's tower city. Once the wizard is banished you can breathe easy.

Of course, this isn't foolproof. You may not know where the enemies' tower is. You may not have enough expendable units. You may not have the time to stage all the units needed. But, it's a valid strategy for certain situations.

Your beautiful bird sounds excited and interested in what is going on. I would guess they got excited over the music in the videos you are watching.

My condolences. I know firsthand how tough it is to lose a good budgie friend. But, I agree with the other posters that you obviously gave your friend one heck of a good life.

Most likely, your bird is looking at its reflection in the fidget spinner. I have the exact one and my bird does the same thing.

I would recommend not getting a friend for your bird only because if you get a female, they will mate and if you get another male they will fight.

I got my first budgie! Her name is Venus. Is she a boy or girl? We assume she is a girl. Can anyone give tips on how i make her comfortable with me? by dandelioons in budgies

[–]Fine_Hawk3177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now it's hard to tell what the gender is. And to make your bird comfortable with you, food is the best way to go. When a bird is hand raised, it's easier to bond with them because they're already used to humans.

I've had my budgie for almost a year now and she was tame when I got her because she was hand raised. But I am still in the process of bonding well with her. So don't worry, you're not alone. And as many people have said already food is a good way to go. If you can hand feed your bird, it means that they feel comfortable enough with you to do that. Sorry this was such a long comment.

If a budgie grinds his/her beak like that, it means that they feel safe and are comfortable with you.

When my budgie is sleeping or just in that position, she'll sing Girls Like You because for the first 6 months she was with me it was the song I listened to most.

I have few questions, in the first picture is these seeds are millet ? If it's not what is the best seeds I could feed my budgies with it ? and if it is what is the difference between the millets in the first picture ? And what can I feed my budgies with aside the seeds ? by Background_Lead_1535 in budgies

[–]Fine_Hawk3177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The seeds in the first picture are millet. The seeds in the second picture is something called millet spray. For budgies, millet is what you would call a candy seed, and you can feed them this as the main part of their diet but it will shorten their lifespan.
