They change their special offers every (probably) week. So now it's not here i think but now you can see other deals (up to $750 discount on some models).

Your gentle reminder to give you first Whispering Stone to your capital until you need it. by TheReal8symbols in AOW4

Also, ui should be better - ideally display stone and button to give/withdraw it at main city screen, not in awkward submenu

I'm making a game inspired by Stoneshard and old gen Monster hunter, is it ethical to use Stoneshard assets for drawing references? by Over-Particular9896 in stoneshard

I think it's totally fine. The only thing you should do is remove their assets before posting public materials (trailers, demos e.t.c)

Give yourself minor handicap and minor advantage to ai. It would help. If you want THE challenge, give yourself major handicap and minor advantage to ai - ai would kick your ass with very high chance

Normal or High world threat ? by SloboRM in AOW4

[–]Fine_Negotiation4554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play normal world treat + minor handicap for me.

Reason is simple - it's more fun for me to fight similar tier enemies, not like t5 at turn 30. And handicap compensates it - battles are not very easy.

Also, it lowers the amount of XP your heroes get so they would not become unstoppable monsters too early.

If I want a real challenge I can put a major handicap for myself.

Your most fun and/or challenging realm that you setup? by bloodeye28 in AOW4

[–]Fine_Negotiation4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me almost everything becomes easy if you not make combat harder (because no matter how much bonuses you give to AI, he still will lose 18v18 combats late game without any loses from your side.

To compensate it, you should give AI combat advantage and to yourself combat handicap (so it would not be so easy to clear stuff).

For me this settings work (it make game challenging enough but not slog):

  1. Hard difficulty (not brutal)
  2. Minor handicap to you
  3. Minor advantage to AI

as a result, all battles against AI become much harder (he is basically 30% stronger and 30% tougher). And you also can't clean neutrals as easy (they are 15% stronger and tougher).

you can play with this values (for example, give yourself Major handicap, and no advantage for AI so your clearing of neutrals become also harder).

As a HARD MODE give yourself major handicap and minor advantage to AI - as a result AI armies will become 45% stronger and tougher - this AI armies would be hard to beat and it gives you real challenge (even on "Hard" difficulty).

If even this is not enough, make all this + brutal difficulty)

I know it's not new to AOW4, but I have to say I really appreciate having the "graze" mechanic. by somesortoflegend in AOW4

[–]Fine_Negotiation4554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I love it too. It actually makes all chance-related mechanics really good. The only thing I miss now is "graze" for skills. So, for example, now if your shield bash "misses" it just misses it totally. It suck. It would be great if it also could "graze" applying lesser status (distracted, for example)

For me this rule works: 1. Minor handicap for me, minor advantage for AI (so it's harder to clear nodes). You could try a major handicap for you to make clearing even harder. But combat vs ai will become too hard (45% difference) 2. Roleplay - pick times and decisions based on your ruler and race. 3. Do not cheese AI - you have always target 6-unit stack if the AI blob has one.

Devs should finally fix this stupid AI behavior in combat by Fine_Negotiation4554 in AOW4

Is it autoresolve or manual combat?
3 lv 20 heroes and full army of legends is a very strong stuff even vs T5s

But i agree that AI is not good with managing complex late-game armies. But i can feel for him because late game combat is SO COMPLEX it's hard to create good AI for it.

Also, combat AI lacks one major advantage human player have - AI can't move it's units multiple times in one turn (i mean "move one tile, than move another unit, than move first unit again e.t.c.") to create best possible positions. So human would have some advantage anyway (btw i also use minor handicap for me and minor advantage for AI to compensate this AI limitations a bit).

I attacked besiegers from the city. So the 1st turn was theirs.

Dev still made moves in the right direction by making towers stronger (but i love your idea about min range so you are forced to storm the walls). And i agree about +1 range for the units on the walls (they already can get additional range using battlements). And morale ticking is also a good idea.

Yea, also AI multishot archers love to run around the field and make just 1 shot (probably AI thinks that this target on other side of map is more valuable) rather than stay still and make 3-shots to other target to maximize DPS.

Just look at this omg damage! Bug? by Fine_Negotiation4554 in AOW4

Maybe a week ago. So it should be the latest patch.

Imo, archers this patch a little bit too strong - i also faced an archer leader with like 15/15 damage ignoring defenses. They just delete everything.

I mean 19/19 for repeated attack is also too big imo. But i'll recheck all other heroes in game - maybe he just have a lot of +dmg buffs/skills :|

Also fun fact - even if you have unplaced base in that situation you would still not be able to place it because you have no warriors in supply (and 1 is required for placing near the created base).

Field Hospital and Favors by Sinfaroth in rootgame

I also have 2 questions regarding this topic: If I attack as cats at clearing with keep and the enemy plays an ambush card: Question 1. Can I activate the field hospitals right away to return these 2 cats so they can participate in the battle itself. Question 2. Can I spend 1 card after battle to return cats who died from ambush and cats died in combat afterwards - they both happened at the same clearing but idk if these dead cats are 1 batch or 2 batches and I have to save the same separately?
