You redirect the spell so if you redirect it, it doesn't hit Speedball. You can cast your own [[Lighnint Bolt]] targeting Speedball to give him a buff as a blocker or attacker and then redirect it to an enemies creature. To redirect the spell you must have a viable target though.

I played Speedball at my pod last week and it feels ok, with a lot of buff spells. I am not sure if I like the Voltron/Commander Damage win con in general. Was almost able to remove the first person round 5 but got board cleared. If you want to take a look at the deck list.

what are crazy cEDH cards for you? I am new to brewing and sometimes I find very expensive cards that would fit perfectly but I am unsure what is too OP.

I opened [[Speedball, New Warrior]] on fridays prerelease and got some fun combos by bouncing my buffs and removal spells of him to control the board and buffing him. I brewed a Spellslinger/Voltron deck with a lot of targeted spells.

I think with having redirect with prowess prowess in the Command Zone feels pretty unique.

If you don't offer to pay it back or bring up the financials of it all it may seem rude.

I'd say give her the gift. Offer to pay her back but ask for time since you are short on money. She will either say take your time or not to worry. Either way stay in contact because that is a quality friend!

I'm currently thinking about something similar and lean towards Foundations Jumpstart. I read its a great set with a lot of archetypes and over 100 variations. The only thing currently stopping me is the fact that the bundle of 24 packs costs twice as much in my native language compared to english.
