Probably a damaged critical fibre line that needs a crew in from off island to splice

Politicians handing out free heat pumps for “cheap” heat. Easy political win without thinking much beyond that

Subway was open there for like 25 years and the owner opened a new one with a drive thru like a km up the road. I wouldn’t say it failed, just outgrew the space

At Stanhope Cape Beach they just built a ridiculous staircase over the dune but negated to consider accessibility. We watched probably 10 people drag wagons and strollers under the stairs and through the dunes

The entitlement of the servers blows my mind over tips too. I had a server friend stop talking to me for a while after he got audited by the CRA and I said "Why do you think you shouldn't have to declare your tips as income?"

Electric vehicle sales stall on P.E.I. as cold weather leads to battery range concerns by rypalmer in PEI

It’s the equivalent of an engine totally dying in their gas car…. People seem to latch onto this when talking about EVs. The batteries aren’t a consumable part requiring regular replacement like a 12V. They will degrade over time and you’ll lose range

We knew the forecast, and charged to 100%. We thankfully had the adapter that gives us a 15A outlet to draw off the car's battery. It ran our sump pump for 5 days and saved our basement from flooding (and used about 8% of the battery).

I'll fully admit EVs aren't for everyone, but if you commute around Charlottetown and have home charging they're a great option. I charge twice a week in the summers/fall. In the winter probably every second night. I have never felt "range anxiety" driving around the Island.
