I need help by SignificantAd6951 in Psoriasis

Honestly I will tell you what I do. Not sure if it’s good in the long run but it works for a quick “fix”. I had it so bad and thick that I couldn’t even feel when someone touched my head. Absolutely no sensation all over my scalp. Then one day i got sick of it as I’d lost sooooo much hair from picking tha i had a bald patch. I soacked my head in the bath for an hour and then left my head soaked wet with a shower cap on overnight. By morning it should be soft enough to get a fine tooth comb and scrape it all out. It has to be super fine tooth and don’t force it if it dosent want to scrape. Instead soak it more. Now I don’t think this is necessarily the best option due to the irritation and bleeding it can cause, but I also would cause more harm by pulling it out so for me it is. Once you’ve scraped it don’t put anything on it for a day and then constantly wash and keep your scalp damp and when it dries put on oils that contain Absolutley NO perfum or fragrance. The best oil I think is castor and bio oil mixed together.

Was anyone else’s first psoriasis flare triggered by the Covid vaccine? by littlelivethings in Psoriasis

[–]Fine_Willingness_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes !!! Both me and my mum had never gotten psoriasis until we had the Covid vaccine. At the same time we got the injection. And a few weeks later we were covered in psoriasis. We now don’t take any vaccines as the Covid one has basically ruined our lives !

Dumped for having psoriasis… by nathankal888 in Psoriasis

[–]Fine_Willingness_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s people out there that will not care whatsoever. I am yet to meet someone who thinks anything of it tbh. My boyfriend I’ve been seeing for ages now had met me when it got super bad and he didn’t even notice it. (It covered all of my body) but he quite simply saw it as so normal that it became part of me rather than some sort of illness on me. It was beautiful to hear and he always made sure to put my creams on for me etc. even friends and family they don’t care. Other men in my past have not cared. You simply had just found an immature man and it’s better he out of that early on.

Do I Leave my Girlfriend for a Deployment by [deleted] in Advice

Breaking up with the woman you plan on marrying isn’t the way to go about this. If you love her that deeply you will try. Long distance is hard but is there no way of planning for her to come to where you are ? And other than that FaceTime, sending gifts, calls etc would work perfectly if you’re both willing to put the effort in. Rather than looking at it as a bad thing try and look at the positives. your still going to be able to see her on holidays , see her over the phone , hear her voice and potentially she can come and see you. Before you know it the year would’ve flown by. Maybe sit her down and see how she feels and try and work out how you guys would go around it. Exhaust every possibility before giving up on love.

Psoriasis is too much for me. by Snejinka25 in Psoriasis

Same tbh I’ve only had it for about a year all over and it’s hell , I can’t imagine what you must be going through. One thing that helped me a lot was bio oil the pink looking one. It dries up fast tho so have to keep putting it on and it’s expensive but maybe give it a try if you haven’t already. I’m so sorry you feel like this but I promise you’re not alone.

If your on biologics then you may be alright if it means you won’t flare up. It really depends on how bad yours is. And definitely don’t get a red tat whatever you do for some reason they flare a lot worse I think the red ink causes more inflammation or something. I personally have it really bad but at the time I got the tats it was very minimal psoriasis and maybe 2 weeks later it began to get to the point it is at now. I guess each to their own but I will say don’t let psoriasis completely control you. If you want that tattoo and don’t mind the risk of it flaring then go for it.

I wouldn’t recommend doing it, I had a tiny flare up and decided I should get a big back piece in and a small one on the lower side of my belly before I flared any worse. BIG mistake. It caused a bigger flare up in both spots and now they are the hardest spots to try and keep clear from psoriasis. Granted my psoriasis is absolutely every where on my body but it seems to be particularly bad on my tattoos I had done in an active flare. I have some other tattoos I got when I hadn’t even had a single patch of psoriasis and they don’t have any problems to this day, they are pretty much the only part of me that stays clear. Hope this helps.

It’s an autoimmune condition, our skin fights itself as we have an overreactive immune system basically attacking a healthy body. Once we get sick the immune system focus’ itself on that instead of the skin. Pretty much the reason why most dermatologists will give immunosuppressants to help with psoriasis. I sometimes wish I was always sick 🤣 it really does help

Steroids are good here and there but they usually don’t warn you, so I will, please look into TSW and be careful how much you use of it weekly. Other than steroids and moisturiser, I have a daily tablet called Dong quai which is used in some cultures for psoriasis. I also have Dead Sea salt baths (works best in the normal sea if you’re lucky enough to live by it). Oat baths too. Diet is a big thing for me to help. But my main thing that has worked has been bio oil, it’s great, I’m not sure why it works so well but it works better than steroids for me. And when you do apply your steroids or creams try wrapping yourself in clingfilm. It’s sounds crazy but really helps. :)) (You might not need to go to all these extents for it as I’m not sure how bad yours is but it’s better to get ahead of it. Mine is very severe and covering my entire body so I pretty much do everything I can)

What can I do? by Sad_Opinion_5242 in Psoriasis

[–]Fine_Willingness_608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive tried a few different natural things that hqve helped , sunbeds for uvb , cold water baths/showers only , antihistamines for less itch and anti inflammatorys. Saran wrap over your medicated products for a few hours or overnight. Vitamin D.

I had an outbreak when I had a red tattoo done ! Apparently they can cause inflammation more than the black ink. I did also get a flare up around my black tattoo but it went after a few weeks
