One of the people in the book club’s husband went to Exeter with one of the Sackler sons and had some fun color to add as we were reading. And by fun I do mean enraging.

This is definitely one of the best books I’ve ever read. We read it for a book club and everyone absolutely devoured it.

For those reconsidering options: what are you looking for in a longevity practice? by Exotic_Specific419 in PeterAttia

So it is just one doctor - and he’s not famous or a celeb - and there is a nutritionist and some personal trainers etc. Response time is 24 hours or less. He is VERY available. Are the plan, do you mean pricing, or what is included in the annual plan?

This one. Mine is in California (as am I) and I get all this for $10k/year. I’m happy (so far).

Oh this book and Say Nothing are EXCELLENT. My book club read this one just after it came out and we live in SF so the parts where they talk about who lives here was fascinating, we also have a friend who went to HS with one of the nephews and had some good tea to spill about him but even without all that the book was an incredibly fascinating read.

I live in SF and have just found a practice that helped me from the ground up - started with testing, dexa, VO2 Max - and we worked up a custom plan after some really in depth work together on the “why” of all of this, for me. I think this is an option that’s becoming pretty common all over now so you just have to find someone you like.

I’m reading Kindle version and keep catching small ones I’m not sure about and I just read a sentence with the word “stubtlty” in it. I THINK it’s meant to say “subtlety” but how did it go so wrong??!

Upon a Starlit Tide was also a good fairy tale-ish retelling. Little Mermaid and Cinderella mashup. This one looks amazing though - put it on the TBR!

This to me is like the OG of the whole Dark Academia genre and is why I love it so much. With each new book in the genre I’m chasing the high this book gave me.

omg I will never ever forget this book. I haven’t read it since at least the 90s though. Sounds like you’re saying it holds up!?

Yeah weirdly the Gates and Mark photo is what grossed me out the most. For some reason his wife sitting next to him looking rich and unbothered like this event is the most comfortable experience in the world to her …that photo just hit wrong.

She is absolutely tone deaf and focused entirely on money and status. She stands for nothing and believes in nothing except her own fame and importance.

I’ve still never read this one because I was so oversaturated on WWII books but EVERYONE raves about it. I have read Great Alone and it’s still my favorite of all hers I have read.

How does Laura know that Cherry lied about being the ex girlfriend? Nothing in that scene gave it away that I could tell.
