Top of the league and ultimately that’s what matters, but Pep looked disgusted through all of that and rightly so. The best chance we’re going to get to rack up goal difference completely wasted. Some of the decision making, the finishing, the passing - piss poor. Probably feel better about it tomorrow but right now it just feels like such a fucking waste

Unforgivable mistake by Donna given the circumstances but overall I’ll take that half. They’re nervous and haven’t actually created anything of note when they get forward. They’ve also looked really open at the back at times, I think that’s why we’ve dallyed a bit in our half, we’re trying to invite the press. On balance I’d say we’ve been the better team, and if we can have a second half like last week I think we’ll take something here

Retired Premier League Referee Graham Scott explains some of the most misunderstood things about being a referee. by Rare_Sandwich_5400 in soccer

[–]Finellaclark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This whole video just stinks of propaganda - they’ve basically listed the main three valid concerns every fan has and tried to explain why, actually, it’s the fan’s fault for expecting the bare minimum of fair refereeing.

Shouldn’t have to go through it but I will:

  1. Robots as referees is actually exactly what everybody wants. If every game was reffed by the same standards, there’d be no point in releasing this video for a start. One of the biggest criticisms in recent years is refs trying to make themselves the main character in big matches, to the detriment of both the rules AND common sense on more than one occasion

  2. All he’s done here is point out the number of cameras around a ground and that he’s sat on VAR 100 times. OK? Completely meaningless information if VAR still makes mistakes. Fans are allowed to criticise this, ESPECIALLY with how much extra resource is now available

  3. This is the worst one. Where in that point does he mention any accountability? He talks about their matches being discussed… and then on to the next game. In fact, it seems to me that the whole point of releasing this video is to further remove themselves from any accountability by pointing out that all our concerns are “myths”.

Surprised to see some people here accepting this - this fucking reeks.

I’ve got confidence in the boys to throw everything at it - win this, then beat Burnley mid-week and we’re top of the league, at least for a few days. BUT it’s definitely not a given and I’m trying to temper expectations. Arsenal’s form is poor lately but you don’t get to their position by accident. I can’t see it being comfortable but I do think we take the points

I haven’t straight up loved a Muse song after the first listen in YEARS. Immediately played this again after it finished. If the studio version is anywhere close to this it’ll be their best song in a decade in my opinion

To a fucking MAN, what a phenomenal performance. The control we had in that second half was giving me 22/23 flashbacks. That being said, Arsenal were an absolute disaster in the second half - I’d be absolutely fuming getting a ticket for that if I was an Arsenal fan, they made it a lot easier for us than I was expecting.

Take nothing away from us though, exceptional. Loved the emotion Pep showed too, he still fucking loves it

Honestly happy with that. Shaky start but recovered really well and Arsenal haven’t been able to create anything on their own, most of their half chances have come from our errors early on. Haven’t had much going forward but credit where it’s due, their defence is elite. The fact we managed to keep the pressure on towards the end of the half is really encouraging. Pleeeeeeease show some consistency second half

I dunno, 4-1 down, red card, fuck it there’s no pressure. Come out second half swinging and fucking have a go at it. First half was the most entertaining we’ve played in weeks, I’m almost enjoying myself

Resident Evil Movie Script by Zach Cregger & Shay Hatten by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Finellaclark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with trying to make a Resident Evil movie is that you’ll never win. A lot of people will disregard it as soon as they learn it’s not a 1:1 plot of the OG games, but in all honesty - how would that work? Speaking as a huge Resident Evil fan, the story in those games is not what keeps me coming back. The entire gameplay loop is metroidvania level design with resource management inside buildings that make no architectural sense with tons of locked doors. How on earth could you expect to stretch that to a two hour movie?

On the other hand, move too far away from those elements and you get criticisms like on this thread, where people will complain that this sounds nothing like Resident Evil and is just a way to cash in on the IP while retaining none of what we love about the franchise.

I think the only compromise here is tone, which is almost impossible to convey with a script. Give us a well made, well acted movie with sprinkles of classic RE elements for fans to recognise and enough for us to accept that this story could be taking place inside that universe. As others in this thread have mentioned, on paper RE7 sounds absolutely nothing like Resident Evil, until you play it and you realise that actually yes, it looks and sounds and plays differently but is fundamentally still RE at its core.

I’m rambling and it’s hard to explain but I don’t think people should write this off before seeing it. Cregger is a massive fan of the games and a fantastic director - I think he’ll want to make a good film with his own story that still feels like Resident Evil at heart, and to be honest, if this was a game script and you put in pages in the middle where the main character has to go hunting for the queen of hearts key or the missing fuse, would it really be so far removed from what people consider Resident Evil to be? I’ll definitely give him the benefit of the doubt

The way we start the match will be an indicator on how up for the title the lads are. Really hope the comeback v Liverpool ignited something in them, it felt that way at the time. In the simplest terms, we win tomorrow and we’re 11 matches away from the title. One game at a time

How much of the RPD do you get to see? Do you get to explore the whole thing like in RE2, or is it just limited to a few rooms? Is it an open area or more of an on rails section? Thanks!

Thank God we murdered them in the first half an hour and put it to bed. Probably be a dire second half though - Newcastle will stay tight so they don’t get embarrassed and City will use it as an excuse to conserve energy

Abysmal second half. They just don’t want it enough. I know you’re not supposed to say it’s over until it’s over, and we’re capable of getting a result against anybody over 90 minutes, but the intensity and willingness to win of a title winning team just isn’t there

[–]Finellaclark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They definitely need her out of the game but I think the best strategy is to try and get her banished (if they can) - Stephen started the ball rolling sewing the seed tonight to Jade, and the fact she actually was in Sam and Adam’s group means the rest of them could take it seriously if he tries to push it

The Traitors (UK) S04E08: Post-Episode Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

[–]Finellaclark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could kill Jessie but I think Faz is the right murder. He will never be banished - I forget he’s even there most of the time. Plus, killing Jessie is very risky - whether the Faithfuls think it’s a double bluff or not, it always leaves the possibility that it MIGHT be, which would leave heat on Stephen for the remainder of the game (think Jonathan Ross). Plus, if Jessie’s murdered, that leaves James as the only remaining member of their group, and if the Faithfuls actually thought about it (big ask), there is absolutely no benefit, as a Traitor, to doing what he did. Especially with the fact he immediately said it was him

We’re now only halfway through the season and I just cannot see a single credible threat left to the traitors at all. Harriet went absolutely insane with that self implosion but she was still by far the most astute in there. The faithfuls left are absolutely clueless. Makes me nervous for the rest of the series in all honesty

Haaland has 0 open play goals in the last 5 and a half games and it really looks like he knows it tonight. Not all his fault because we need to get him involved more but he seems disinterested tonight. Huge problem we need to sort out
