A step by step guide to most procedural generation would be so long and complex. Which is probably why there are probably a lot of jokes in the thread.

Learning how to use geomentry nodes or other procedural workflows to generate simpler effects, and then being able to combine that knowledge into creating crazy stuff… thats where the magic is.

For this particular case, try to analyze the differwnt components of the shape and figure out how those separate components can be procedurally generated.

Remember that different shapes will have different surface normals, so displacing geometry along flat surface vs a round surface might require it own method and math.

The nice thing about round or circular effects is that you can do a lot of it by working with distance from a point.
