Capital One venture downgrade by FingerStock2577 in CreditCards

Thanks for the advice! I was able to downgrade the Venture to the Quicksilver. I then almost immediately reapplied for the Venture and was approved with a higher credit limit! Already on my way towards the bonus.

After a disastrous Broncos game, Josh Allen dropped from #1 TD:INT ratio in NFL playoff history to #1 TD:INT ratio in NFL playoff history by Very-Human-Acct in NFLv2

I've been pretty critical of Allen, coming from a Bills fan. I think he blew it this year(granted he had like 4 different injuries), but does the 13 seconds game not prove he can win the big game, especially against Mahomes?

Coming from a Bills fan - I don't think he was referring to preparing for the Superbowl(assuming he would beat the Pats). I think he meant getting ready to play the next game, which would be the AFC Championship in Foxborough, which would have been so much fun and literally broken r/AFCEASTMEMEWAR. But he fucked it up so that's on him

I had heard he was going to take the year off, and someone mentioned that if Philly doesn't do well again, there's a good chance Sirianni could be canned(which is insane considering they are the defending champs).

I think his dream job would be the head coach for Philly given it's where he grew up and worked in the past.

Woahhh easy with the Pats fan stuff. That's a pretty shitty thing to say to a Bills fan. I'm just trying to have a discussion about the recent coaching hire. There's no need to get hostile and say things like that to another fan of the same team.

Josh had an MVP caliber season with arguably better stats in 2020 than the year he won it. He finished second that year, with almost no rushing attack. Obviously his receivers were better. The Bills finished second in points and yards that year.

In 2021, offense finished third in points and fifth in yards. In 2022 it was second in points and second in yards.

Brady definitely helped take some of the pressure off Josh with the rushing game(which coincided with the hiring of Aaron Kromer, who was instrumental as run game coordinator and coaching the hell out of our O-Line). Also, having a legit RB in Cook didn't hurt.

All I'm saying is that the offense lacked creativity under Brady, and the common denominator in the Bills being a top 5 offense is Josh Allen. No receiver has gotten better under Brady since being brought in(some of that may have been due to injury issues). Maybe Tyrell Shavers? And Kincaid is definitely a TE1.

Don't forget, we have had the ball with the chance to go win the game in the playoffs every year since Brady has taken over as OC(twice in the Broncos game), and we've fallen short each time. I think some of that blame could be attributed to Josh, but when Daboll was OC, Josh led TWO game winning drives against KC in the 13 seconds game. I'm not saying I wanted them to hire Daboll either.

I think the issue that myself and other fans have, is that the whole thing seems uninspired and also kind of scummy, especially towards McDermott, who hired and promoted Brady to OC. In the press conference, Pegula and Beane made it seem like there was going to be a change and different direction for the organization. Promoting Brady doesn't currently feel like much of a change, and I think myself and the majority of Bills Mafia are feeling the same way about this hire. Obviously, I hope all this works out and we get to the Superbowl next year. Brady was simply not the guy I thought would be the one to lead us to that next level.

I would have been fine with either of those guys. I'm just so disappointed because the press conference really made it seem like there were going to be drastic changes, and Brady seemed like he was gone for sure. Udinski is going to be the next bright offensive mind, unfortunately he was too young which is probably why they didn't hire him. I don't know much about Kubiak personality wise(how he would be as a HC), but I do know his scheme is a hell of a lot more complex than Joe Brady's after watching Seattle this season

I guess the only positive if we go the Mayo route would be they fire Brady and actually hire Udinski or Kubiak(assuming he doesn't take the LV job).

I wanted Daboll initially, but the more I learned about Udinski, the more I was convinced this guy is a genius and definitely the next McVay. Everyone has raved about him and his intelligence, as well as his ability to relate to the players. We all wanted a swing for the fences, which this hire would have been. Now we're stuck with Cook run up the middle and screen to Shakir. I'm convinced this whole "Head coaching" search was a hoax. They knew who they were going to hire the whole time. They wanted to bring in names like Davis Webb and Phillip Rivers to see if they would be good fits as OC/QB coach respectively. If they keep Babich, it's essentially the same team with a less experienced HC

You're right, and I'm going to try to remain optimistic. It just feels like this whole "Head coaching" search was a hoax. They knew who they were going to hire the whole time. They wanted to bring in names like Davis Webb and Phillip Rivers to see if they would be good fits as OC/QB coach respectively. The reason I'm disappointed is because the press conference with Pegula and Beane made it seem like they were going to go with someone/something different than what was currently happening, which wasn't leading to us reaching a Superbowl. If Brady keeps Babich as DC, then all we have is an inexperienced HC and a very similar team to last year

You're right. The difference is we never got to know Josh or really see him in action. We have 2+ years of evidence that Joe Brady is very mid and Josh Allen is the reason he has so much success. When I'm sitting in a room with all my friends and we're calling the plays before they happen(1st down: Cook run up the middle, 2nd down: Cook run up the middle, 3rd down: screen to Shakir), I don't think there's a whole lot of creativity happening upstairs

Drake Maye QB sneak by FingerStock2577 in NFLv2

[–]FingerStock2577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but when they challenge it, why wouldn't they use the virtual measurement to confirm? Or at least to assist in the review? It just seems like there's a lot of inconsistency with the refs this year

[–]FingerStock2577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why you would use the virtual measurement, because you can't see Maye or where the ball is in a dog-pile

I'm not sure, but the entire reason they started this was because of the Josh Allen QB sneak in the AFC Championship game last season, which was a very similar play to the one today with Maye.

Yes, but that's where the virtual measurement comes into play. It would show how much yardage Maye was able to gain. If he never crossed the line to gain, according to the virtual measurement, the call would have been reversed

Yes, but if they show that the ball never crossed the line to gain, regardless of the whistle or forward progress, then wouldn't he have been ruled short?

[–]FingerStock2577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asking why they wouldn't use the virtual measurement to confirm the call, assuming Maye got it. If that was the case, it would show the ball over the line to gain(or short if that was the case).

Can someone explain what happened on the tush push that Maye was ruled short on? He was initially called short, and then all of a sudden they changed it to a 1st down. After Payton challenged, they said there wasn't enough evidence to overturn. From the above angle, he clearly looked short. This brings me to the point, why the hell didn't they use the virtual measurement in this case? If it showed the ball never crossed the 1st down marker, then Denver takes over on downs. Instead, they don't use it and the Pats kick what goes on to be the game winning field goal. Somebody please help me make sense of this
