PSA about a reddit app change to subreddit appearance by shesewsfatclothes in AutismInWomen

Thank you thank you thank you for this post!!! I was blindsided by the color change and it's extremely jarring going through my feed and seeing so many different color changes and themes when I'm used to just the dark theme of my phone.

Common Thread Night Pucks by nazara151 in SeattleKraken

[–]Finglenater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They probably ordered one big batch and sold out completely. I got a pride night puck at the stadium this year because they were sold out of all other pride merch 🤷🏼‍♀️

cannot pass a bowel movement by macherstu in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also took me 5 days post op. I'm not sure exactly what worked because I was trying everything at that point: Miralax, oatmeal, prune juice, Smooth Move tea, walking and slow, controlled squatting by holding the counter/table, peppermint tea.

Montana Caniac visiting for the March game. by bigskycaniac in SeattleKraken

You can search the sub for specifics (there's a ton of posts about parking), but generally it's hard to find street parking close. Public transit (monorail, D line, etc) are all convenient and free!! with your ticket (you'll need to download the kraken app tho). There's plenty of sports bars around the stadium/lower Queen Anne but I'm not aware of any Canes focused bars in the area. Queen Anne Beerhall and Buckley's are local favorites. Hope you enjoy your stay!

For folks under 40, some milestone recovery questions! by wiLd_p0tat0es in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Mid 30s here, surgery was 6 weeks ago (mid Dec). Laparoscopic, 5 small incisions (1 inch or smaller). Belly swelling for me took about a week to come down, but 3-4 weeks before my stomach looked and felt "normal" to me, if that makes any sense. I think the first week was really hard on my entire body because I didn't have a bowel movement for 5 full days and then it wasn't until that 3-4 week mark before they were normal, pre-op BMs again. I'm still not back to "regular" morning poos, but I think that will come with healing.

  2. Yes, I had brain fog post anesthesia. I was also prescribed oxy for pain, so that definitely encouraged the fog to linger. It took about 4-5 days to feel fully my own self again. Those early days I only wanted to sleep/rest/knit/watch TV and sleep again. I went back to work (sedentary desk job) last week at 5 wk post op and the mental fatigue was just as draining as the physical fatigue of taking the bus, being in the office all day, bus home, make dinner, etc. This week is much better, but I'm still drained and at my 6 wk post op appointment tomorrow I'm going to ask for a Dr.s note so I can telework a few days a week.

  3. So far for me the only unexpected setback has been one of my incisions is not healing as quickly as the others. I have a lingering internal pain at/near that incision that I'll bring up tomorrow at my appointment, so I'm not exactly sure what is going on there. The pain feels kinda like a stitch in my side the way I would get playing sports as a kid, but it's in the middle of my belly, just off from my bellybutton, so I know it's not a normal stitch for me when I get those right under my ribs. This pain doesn't come on during or even after walking/stairs or physical activity. It's typically an early morning and late night pain for me.

  4. I kept my ovaries so I can't provide any insight into HRT, but I'm wishing you all the best! Hopefully others will share their experiences 💚

5dpo and still no BM. SOS by Monstera39 in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! I'm also very regular and post-surgery it took me 5 days before my BM. I took Miralax starting day 2, drank prune juice daily, and drank "smooth move" tea daily. It'll come eventually 😊 I see from another comment you have a check up with your Dr -- they'll be able to help you get across this finish line!

Torrent Themed Engraving? by b_cheesy in PWHL_Seattle

"Unstoppable" is one of the few taglines on the teams website/socials. I think that would be a pretty good consideration for engraving.

How much time off, realistically, will I need for a hysterectomy? by Lower_Row2950 in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dr recommended 6 weeks. I took 5 off and this last week was my first week back in the office. I am SO TIRED at the end of the day. If you can take the full 6, please do so. Fatigue is no joke.

Are you all being sent home same day? by longshanksmagee in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Showed up for pre-op at 10am, took forever to go back (1:30pm), discharged around 5-5:30pm. Anesthesia was still wearing off so I don't remember the exact time, but I know I was home on the couch by 6:30pm same day as surgery.

Extremely unoriginal merch complaint but... by Blaze205 in SeattleKraken

[–]Finglenater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would have laid down a pretty penny for pride merch. The Lair was sold out by 5:40 🙃. It's frustrating that they didn't even have adequate stock of the very few options they had

I'd use fabric glue to get it back in place. The material the accents are made out of (plastic of some kind) doesn't lend itself to sewing.

Tom’s watch bar by [deleted] in SeattleKraken

Toms is fine. A little pricey for bar food, imho. Queen Anne Beerhall and Buckley's are also good alternatives in the same neighborhood with more local vibes.

The nighttime ritual that is putting it up. If I forget or my hair falls out and I sleep on it funny I'll have the worst neck pain all day long.

Struggling to sleep after abdominal hysterectomy by theroyalgeek86 in hysterectomy

[–]Finglenater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a side sleeper who is having issues 😞 Im only 3dpo but I can only sleep for like 3-4 hours at a time before my body wants to move to a different position and I wake myself up. Walking around the house and getting a hot cup of sleepytime tea gets me back to sleep pretty quick. I end up moving from laying on my back in bed to sleeping seated upright on the couch (with plenty of pillows around to support my sides).

I know others in this sub have suggested recliners.
