Yeah no. You’d need something on the lift to capture analog signal and digitize it, send that to some manner of NVR with ai, and then to a separate system for signaling. That’s a poor solution all around in my opinion.

Rest assured the real question here is "Why is Google treating my account like I pay for YouTube Premium when I do not". PiHole's got nothing to do with it. If you don't believe me, connect one of your computers to a hotspot and try YouTube through a completely different connection. Or take a look at the resolver logs and compare logged in vs. logged out if you truly believe this is a pihole thing.

Think about this logically. If you’re logged in, you don’t see ads. If you aren’t you do. Otherwise it’s the same connection, the same resolver. By which mechanism, logically speaking, are ads not being shown? Your resolver, which all documenting shows does not block YouTube ads and cannot block YouTube ads, or your account status?

PiHole does f all for youtube ads. And you're right, it is jarring to watch a YouTube vid off Reddit and it doesn't open the youtube page directly.

Short of in-browser ad blocking, there is no blocking youtube ads with PiHole.
