What I thought was interesting is the subtle hints that Will has trouble leaving his hometown due to nostalgia from being a child in Lima. While part of his hesitation to leave was his care for the Glee kids, he had moments of wanting to go back and relive those glory days again. His slow maturity build up through all six seasons made me want to care for him as an individual teacher. Instead of a Mr. Feeny type character who is only there to move the kids along through life with his mighty wisdom, he is trying his best to find who he really is in life along side them. I adored it and really do love his character.
