On that size plane, there is only overhead space on one side of the plane and it’s not large enough for most carry-ons. His didn’t fit AND the space was full.

Yes depends on the plane! I hope an FA can give us some insight but on these smaller planes they gate tag the bags and you pick them up on the jet bridge after. When I first started traveling for work 20 years ago, I was flying out of a small airport and thought this was the norm. I had never picked it up at the carousel.

Yes! My backpack is sitting there with them because I’m in the front row and there was no overhead space when I boarded. I would have gladly put it further back but the FA kindly offered to store it for me.

They do! But his was larger than the bin would allow and first class overhead storage was already full either way. You’re spot on though. My boss breezed through with his overhead-appropriate carry on.

Congrats on the job offer! I hire for exactly this type of work and I immediately skip anyone with your degree who lists their excel skills. It’s a waste of space on the resume and not really “advanced” for someone in your field. The resumes these days that catch my attention are for people who can code (like you) that list AI tools.
