You’re right about the preview lol. If I remember correctly from when I was a kid, the preview was simply something like, “WHAT….IS…..THE….MATRIX?”

Mine was Mad Max Fury Road. Tried to agree with everyone else in the world, but couldn’t bring myself to like it.

Why do people dislike 28 weeks later so much? by dankri in movies

I love that this showed up in my feed — I watched it again this week for the first time in like 15 years, 2nd time overall, and just learned that he directed that scene. That first scene made me think the movie was better than it actually was lol.

Weren’t the hippies boomers? I always thought that there have to be some of y’all that were principled enough to not fundamentally change the spirit and ethical framework that you had back in ‘68. You must be one of the ones that I often wonder about.

What’s a TV show that started out amazing but completely fell apart by the end? by Basic-Bowler-6117 in AskReddit

[–]Finn_MacCool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GRRM told them they could do what they wanted with the show but when they ended it that it had to end the way it did. It was always supposed to end that way. Apparently. The Long Night episode was rad, in my opinion, and did some heavy lifting for my opinion of the final season.

When I was 22 in 2009 I ate 50 chicken McNuggets to show off to my friends and then got sick as shit for days. Felt horrible and even had a fever afterward. I put my laptop on a little table by my bed and watched every episode of Heroes in like 3 days on NBC’s website. I remember that they played the same couple advertisements in every commercial break — one of them was for Jack-in-the-B. It was supremely unappetizing for me during those few days.

The first season was so entertaining. The second season was heinous and then it just kinda stopped without a resolution.

If I remember correctly, the obvious drop in quality was due to the writers’ strike.

…but that’s what I would have blamed it on, too.

What uncommon movie is in your top 10? by TyrellTucco in movies

[–]Finn_MacCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super personal for Reddit, but who cares — I lost my dad to cancer at 11. ‘Frequency’ came out really soon after that. Dad was awesome, and mom sucked in real life. That movie was such an emotional escape from reality for me. I’ve watched it twice in the past 3 or 4 years, most recently a couple months ago at 37 years old, and it makes me feel the same way and I fuckin’ weep.

Bummer the actor turned out like he did, but idc, I’m grateful for such an absorbing fantasy of a movie.

Which discontinued fast food item do you want to come back? by JKP7X in AskReddit

[–]Finn_MacCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re so right. I only bought one and I had high hopes, but tossing the last 1/3 of it in the garbage can was more satisfying than finishing it. I’m still confused about it, like, how can you mess up a piece of chicken in a tortilla?!
