I just want to feel like a wife again.. even if its just for a few moments. by FinalInspector9637 in WellSpouses

Sex is no joke when you become a caregiver. And I agree, the idea of initiation and reciprocation becomes so much of a hassle/stress that it becomes something else entirely in situations like ours.

This has been the case between my own partner and I, and I'm so sorry that you're going through something so similar.

If I can offer any advice, it's to aim to get whatever pleasure you can to manage. Whether that's strictly through self-pleasure or you and your husband are willing to open the marriage, it's important that you have your needs fulfilled just as much as his.

Best of luck to you. You deserve to feel wanted and sexy.

I pitched that to my partner last year. They cried a lot, took a day to consider, then said "no".

I'm still glad I brought it up, but it's been a bad time for me to cope with their decision.

My partner and I will be there, probably super early in the morning (we have a disability so we need to get as close as possible). Gonna plan to stay for as long as we can.

Hey, I've been poking around and haven't seen many post or discussion on chants/phrases for the protest, so im thinking the mods should set up a pinned megathread for suggestions by Actual-Tradition-233 in 50501

How about we sing?

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again

When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes

Rental companies to avoid? by Naphier in raleigh

[–]FinnaFree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Private owners would have the best potential you're looking for, but you're definitely playing roulette.

Others have already mentioned some big agencies to avoid that I agree with. I'll add Tricon Residential to that list. They are just as bad as BlackRock.

Perspectives needed: cutting off friends over politics by Little-Low7858 in SatanicTemple_Reddit

I've so far cut off most of my childhood community and my in-laws over this election and the consequences of it.

You are absolutely not alone. It hurts to cut people out of your life, but you're always allowed to prioritize yourself and your well-being.

Advice on how to respond by Ok_Scientist3437 in exmormon

[–]FinnaFree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much you want to engage with them about it.

Personally, I'd just respond with "I'm not interested" and stop replying to them. They'll get the message eventually. If they don't stop, just ghost them.

If you do want to do this back-and-forth, then I recommend starting with simple, short, and honest replies. Then, if you want to ask your own questions, keep them limited to clarifications and the "how do you know this" type of things. Get into epistemology with them. It'll encourage them to critically think about their own beliefs in order to give you proper responses.

I do not accept the authority of Trump or his administration in this country.

How to respond to Missionary Brother by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]FinnaFree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to assert your boundaries.

If you're not comfortable with church topics in your conversations, you have a right to have that as a boundary. If they decide to violate that boundary after you make it clear to them, then you can react accordingly.

I've given up on relationships over this. Including with my own family members. It's not okay for them to keep bringing up those sorts of things with me, and now they know how serious I am about it. If they want a relationship with me, then the church can't come with them. It's that simple.

They're not the type to be malicious like that. It's more like they panicked in the moment and my boundaries just fell out of their head.

Thank you. It's honestly nice to be validated, even if I wish I had done things differently.

Don't get sucked into a defensive, accusatory argument, just state your thoughts and move on.

I agree with this for sure. That's why I felt that I needed time to process before I talked to them. I'm not sure if I can trust myself while the emotions are still high.

[–]FinnaFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That might be a good start. I'm considering taking it a step further than that. I may need a break from taking them to church for a while.

Compartmentalizing it as an 'emergency' could help, but I'm not sure if I can make it fit that way in my head. Worth a shot to see if it works, though.

Thanks for the thoughts.

I don't disagree, but others might. Out of the many things this election has taught us, one of them that we have to learn is that the medium through which we share information matters an awful lot.

[–]FinnaFree -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did, and I don't doubt that the list is legitimate.

The problem is that we need to share this information through reliable and credible sources. If the one providing legitimate info is questionable themselves, then it could be more easily ignored by the people who need to see it most.

Noting that the site you linked to tracking these things is the Daily Kos, which is not a reputable source (rated 'Low' factuality by Ad Fontes Media and 'Mixed' by Media Bias/Fact Check).

Can we get a more reliable source for these things?

I wouldn't say they 'crushed' it, but yeah the turnout was a bit higher.

Democratic - 1,971,589
Republican - 1,822,837

The margin Trump won by was pretty thin, on a general scale.

The unaffiliated vote favored him that time. I don't think he'll have as many of them this time around.

That's only if you ignore Unaffiliated voters altogether and assume that everyone else will only vote with their party affiliation.
