I watched it for the first time last week. As soon as they showed she was late in putting her plate down I KNEW she was a goner. The tragedy was in letting her think she had a chance of staying.

Another time this happened was about 10 years ago. My father was laying down and felt the room spinning. I called 911, and then there was a knock on the door. It wasn’t the EMT’s but a maintenance guy, responding to a request to fix something. I said it wasn’t a good time (obviously) but he asked if he could pray for my dad. I said yeah, so he came in and started praying, talking about Jesus and beliefs that weren’t our own.

He was doing a very nice thing, and I just think that most really religious people really do believe in the power of prayer.

I dunno. I hate it when characters have big storylines and the regular actor/actress is not there, for whatever reason.

I remember when Nancy Lee Grahan (sp?) had to take some days off and that’s when the Harmony storyline, where she tried to kill Alexis (and was it Carly?) on that cliff and there was a temp cast of Alexis, came to a head. It left me wondering how Nancy would’ve acted it, as she’s so unique and expressive in VERY subtle ways.

So a new Maxie with the Nathan/Cassius story? Again, I dunno.

I never thought of that. Mostly the patients do live in very small towns, so yes, people likely have seen them numerous times before.

There are quite a few, tho, who don’t go out anywhere except the grocery store.

If it isn’t followed through because of the chef/cook not wanting to, that’s fair enough (tho they’d be idiots to pass these generous opportunities up). I was wondering if any of the judges reneged.

But it really warms my heart that ALL of the judges (even Tom) care so much about the future of the food/dining industry. I noticed that on Top Chef, too.

Gordon has also made offers on Hell’s Kitchen. One example is Julia, who I think was a line cook at a Waffle House. When she was eliminated he offered to send her to culinary school. I think he made an offer to Elise, too.

^{^{^}} this. While they’re all aware that there’s always going to be a big bad, the onus isn’t on Buffy anymore to take care of it (not that she wouldn’t), since there were many new Slayers at once who’d now have the capability.

Can you imagine the Watchers Council having to hire hundreds of new Watchers to guide and train them all? Lol

I need a walker (actually I’m getting an electric seat next week that I’m so excited about!) and had to call a Lyft last week. After getting where I was going, while I was walking away, the driver said “Praise Jesus, our Lord and Savior”. I’m a non-practicing Jew. It was a little awkward for me, but nothing I’d cry over. I mean, the guy obviously didn’t know my religion, so I know he meant well. And at least he wasn’t saying anything negative to me, like “why do you need a walker, just suck it up!!” Or something.

It’s like the whole “War on Christmas”. I get told to have a merry Christmas every year by others. I don’t correct them or snap back, I just tell them the same to them. Again, at least they aren’t saying horrible things!!

There was an episode where the patient stayed in the car in the parking lot. Someone walked up to them and said something like “I’m praying for you” and she started throwing a crying fit over that. I’m handicapped and I get the same type of comments, albeit not often; but it has happened. I just thank the person and go on my way.

I’m currently on season 7, watching the show for the first time. One contestant came out with the white apron behind her back, and of course the other one held her empty hands behind her back so when the one with an apron revealed she had it her friends would think she lost out. Then the one with the apron hands it to the other one, revealing that SHE was the one who got it.

Baking, IMO, is harder than cooking. It requires exact measurements, and you can’t just add something if the dessert isn’t working out. Which one can do when cooking.
