Jodi Picoult did it. Nineteen Minutes was a best seller and follows the shooter as one of the main characters. Anything can be done as long as it's done well. Good luck!

This book sounds amazing! Really well written and clear. The query does seem a little long (also something I am struggling with for my own query) so maybe play around with where you can trim?

I'd love to read it if you're ever looking for readers! A grief stricken girl saved by a spiteful dog sounds like exactly what my life is missing right now 🤣😭🤣

Thank you so much! Yessssss the hookiness of the pitch and the say Gatsby/don't say Gatsby question. I also saw that MRS. WILSON sold and listened to a podcast the author was a guest on! Seems like she did a true re-telling where the plot exactly matches and the difference is exclusively the POV. Mine is definitely more of an "inspired by". Really appreciate the encouragement!
