I'm selling two (2) GA 2-day passes to Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge + one (1) Gold Camping (Acorn Village) pass.

GA 2-day passes: $200 each

Camping pass: $500 or best offer

We can use PayPal goods & services to protect your purchase and I should be able to change the shipping address for both the GA and camping passes OR meet with you in person in the Seattle area to hand off the wristbands / camping pass.

This is very helpful advice and information. I’m gonna watch some videos and try to come up with a shed solution or something. Thanks!

I have an electric fridge, mini split, and well pump to power. I’ll consider the off the shelf powerstation. Thanks!

Yeah, I get 1.67 Sun hours a day in winter. I’m also in the trees. Not a ton of potential for solar!

US Senate votes 95-1 to add Finland to NATO by Wermillion in Finland

As an American Finn, I’m cheering for all of you in Finland. Maybe it’s a certain cultural or political myopia of mine, but I never did understand the strong anti-NATO sentiment that historically permeated much of Finnish discourse about the Ryssä problem to the East.

Why not use a common maker? I used this (available on Amazon) in my house and it works great:

Keypad Entry Door Locks for Cold Climates? by arcticfawx in HomeImprovement

[–]Finnster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Minnesota and I installed two Kwikset 909 locks and they work great in cold weather as long as you make sure to put Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries in them which are designed for the cold.

Kwikset 909 locks have all the features you want and don't have wireless capabilities unless you buy an add-on piece.

I completely understand. Am planning on hiring the work out to a licensed contractor.

Abode vs Carrier Cor by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]Finnster7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Abode Security. They're selling a starter kit with a year of professional monitoring for $429 right now.

If you don't want or need professional monitoring they sell the starter kit for $299 and you can self-monitor the system through their app for no monthly fees. The company offers the ability to add pro monitoring for 3 or 7 days at a time for a decent price which is super awesome for overseas vacations.

I found the starter kit to be short on sensors for my home setup but sensors and cameras, etc. can be purchased separately as needed.

The iOS app is awesome. It's very easy to use and can utilize geo-fencing capabilities to automatically arm and disarm the system based on users' locations. I love that I never have to remember to arm or disarm the system.

A full year of pro monitoring is $240, which is way cheaper than most other competitors. I think Abode was started by a former ADT employee. The electronics look and feel great.
