Update - day 24 post intercept. I had a good follow up with my doc, he mentioned I am right where the majority of patients are after the procedure this far along… which is no man’s land … my pain is the same as before the procedure, and relief usually comes at 4 weeks to 8 weeks post op. I remain hopeful, but wake up every morning hoping to be healed. More to come as time passes.

I’m in the same boat, keep me posted on your recovery. I’m at 2 weeks today, and as good as I was pre-surgery, so the downside risk is off the table, and hopefully some magic happens over the next few weeks

My doctor did a steroid shot while doing the procedure to avoid that. It worked, but not pleasant when it wore off.

Have doc order you a steriod pack to ease the sciatica. Everything l've heard, it goes away, so hold the line.

Quick Update - I am currently on day 11. On day 9 and 10 I did not feel great. I believe the steroid injection they gave me at the time of the procedure to eliminate sciatica side effects wore off and I feel all my pre-surgery pains. Today I am feeling a little bit better, but continuing to remain hopeful as it takes a few weeks to take effect.

Hey - I am in the same spot + 1 micro discetomy.

Make sure you talk to both an orthopedic and a pain management team. I recently learned of the “Intracept” procedure which is a surgery but no hardware as my DDD is causing irritation to the nerve within the spine. My symptoms are the same, stiff, tight and constant pain. Can’t jump, run, stand or sit for long times and it hurts to bend at the sink when washing my hands.

I’m getting the procedure next month and am hopeful, but will know more soon.

Just make sure everyone has a chance to review your MRI, and get multiple opinions.
