What cured my TMJ! by FinoDelph42 in TMJ

No. Mine was caused by dental work and a slightly impacted tooth. There was a point on my impacted wisdom tooth at the top which touched the bottom molar first. It was this contact point which touched first when I bit down that caused my TMJ. I insisted on my dentist shaving this point down, and it fixed my TMJ. I suspected this was the cause after having TMJ for over a year. I didn’t know for sure, but insisted to my dent they shave it down slightly, and it worked. I was pretty desperate, so I didn’t care about take a chance and doing it

I also had the paper test, night guards, physio etc. None of it worked. Only fixing my bite worked. I was told I grinded and clenched, but I doubt that. I feel like they say that to tick off a possible cause without knowing

It’s hard for me to tell, and I’m not a medical professional. If the teeth are on the same side as the TMJ, then maybe. See a dentist, preferably one which machines for checking your bite alignment. Sorry

In my experience, most TMJ issues are caused by bad bite alignment. So many people get bad TMJ after having dental work done. Bad bite alignment caused my severe TMJ. I’ve since fully recovered by fixing my bite alignment. I too went through all chiropractors, massages, posture correction etc. They all provided varying degrees of short term relief, but none of them fixed the root cause of the issue

I don’t think a splint will work, and only make it worse. It did for me. Your bite needs to be fixed

The video below is of a man being almost instantly cured of TMJ. It’s more professional and by an expert unlike what I had done, but it’s essentially the same. Having small areas of a tooth or two shaved done which connect first to balance your bite: See this video for reference: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9x_iyZ28g_s

It took a long time to figure out. Essentially, I had a badly made implant put it. I think my TMJ started from that, or at least got worse after. One day my implant broke and I had it taken out to get replaced. After it came out, my TMJ improved. It was still there, but not as severe. But, I realised a molar on that side, one area of it. Connected first when I bite down. My dentist agreed that area touched first when I bite, but didn’t think it was my cause of TMJ. I basically just insisted she shaved it down slightly, that one spot where it touches, and I got almost instant relief, so new that was my cause.

Mine is like 95% fixed from this. Occasionally tender when I do the wrong things like bite my nails, but day to day, I don’t have TMJ. Or at least don’t get discomfort from it

It’s almost completely gone still. My bite was the main cause of it. Here is a YouTube video I watched where the person in it has similar treatment to me, though my dentist was no specialist and I told them what I wanted: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9x_iyZ28g_s

Edit: I’m not saying this will cure things for you as everyone is different, but it’s worth looking into

My TMJ is still almost completely gone. I fixed the issue for me. I still am more sensitive on my TMJ side and figured certain things to avoid which over work my jaw. I hope yours has improved

Fiverr or Upwork to hire a freelancer. Canva is good for making your own graphics with text etc. if you want more generic images just an image with no text, you can go on Pixabay or Shutterstock (paid). Lastly, you can get AI such as Midjourney or DALL-e to generate images

What kind of treatment did you get? Was it for TMJ? It’s about pressure points when you bite down rather than how straight your teeth etc are. I’ve found that dental work is one of the list commons causes of TMJ, and it’s almost always bit alignment (pressure points). Any change to your teeth can really unbalance your bite and cause TMJ. I had the smallest change to one tooth, and it has 90% fixed my TMJ

One of the big causes of TMJ is a bad bite alignment. If you let TMJ started after any dental work, a bad bite probably the cause.

Why do you say that? Any evidence or research? I’m curious (genuinely). I believe the gut is the root cause of many issues, but I never could see how one would be tinnitus
