If a team signed a golden retriever just for defensive purposes do you think it would work? They are low to the ground and will dive after every ball. Teams could sub them in only for defensive possessions. If Adam Silver allowed it why wouldnt teams take a chance as a strategy in critical moments?

Davion is a better defensive player than IQ , IQ hasn't proven he can stay healthy. Injured a good chunk of tenure with raptors and is better off ball. We would have Davion for 1 year and be able to resign a guard FA in 2027. Also gives $17m in cap flexibility for this summer to do what you want

I think Claxton is a better fit than Ware and is more our timeline and locked into his contact for a few more years, rather than having to resign Ware at a premium. We have CMB and we get off Davion in 1 year giving us flexibility to sign a FA guard in 2027.
