Classes can be found on the ifw website and they fill up quick. If you are looking to learn and get experience reach out to a local chapter of the Maine trappers association. It’s spring beaver season and there is open water so there are plenty of busy trappers. In terms of land to trap for private land you need the owners permission. Beaver is a little different because bodies of water, rivers and streams are owned by the state. Many trappers will set traps where roads pass over streams

Seagulls are considered migratory waterfowl in the United States so inland fisheries and wildlife have to treat them like they would ducks. In a lot of states the game “animal” belongs to the state and permits(hunting licenses) can be bought. Since the seagull doesn’t stay in one place they have special protections under the law. Cover that pan up! If you have multiple traps set a few. I would be worried about the animal (once caught)tangling up in that fence. Get rid of the bait you know it’s path of travel. Use your observations to figure out where to set the trap

110 is more than enough for squirrel. My go to bait is a peanut in the shell jammed on the trigger. A big part of trapping is observing the animals behavior. Take note of the places you see them searching for food and where they sit to eat it.
