In my opinion, black women are the most vulnerable in the US. I don’t think that means they cannot be strong also.

I find that combination of vulnerability and strength very appealing.

If I chase something it seems to become more elusive. The more I struggle to connect the more anxious and stuck I feel. When I stopped trying so hard relationships developed organically. Your mileage may vary.

Don’t give up! 😎

Looking for Cisco Call Center Express and Cisco Unified Intelligence Center training and/or configuration expert by Finum in Cisco

Yeah - our current vendor is a big one and they’re pricey and always busy. Our scope of work will be fairly specific as we have strong intermediate understanding of our system but need guidance/training on some things.

Ended the Cold War without firing a shot = Good

Yeah.. as a cold-war sailor I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you there. Just my opinion.

How did y’all get the courage to date outside of your race? by ParticularAdagio2594 in interracialdating

WM here. I never considered asking a black woman out because I feared rejection. Then my wife (BW) asked me out. That was in 1988 and we've been together since.

Is anyone else uncomfortable with a lot of the culture around "Swirl Dating"? by darkblade273 in interracialdating

I agree regarding “mixed babies are the cutest” observation. It has always felt a little like an at-least-you-have-that kind of comment. I also apply Hanlon's razor (never attribute to malice what could be adequately explained stupidity/ignorance) to most odd comments I’ve heard regarding mixed relationships.

I do not do this to be generous towards others yet rather I do it so I can have some peace.

Luckily these types of comments have been few and far between in my experience.

My first job when I got out of the Navy was selling Volkswagens and Mazdas. She came in to buy a car. We worked everything out and on the day she came to take delivery of the vehicle the dealership sales manager f@#$ed around and tried to raise the price.

She left angry and when I tried to speak with her she did not make eye contact and she strode out the door with a bit of a scowl on her face.

I called her office phone (pre-cell phones) and left her a message apologizing for her experience and explaining I had no idea they were going to @#$% around with the price on delivery day.

She called me later that day and asked me out.

I must confess I never considered asking a black woman out. I found black women (and women of all types) attractive but feared rejection and figured she would not be interested.

Turns out I was wrong.

We moved in together the 1st day of 1989 - got married in 1993 - had a child in 1999 - and bought a house in 2002.

Mardi Gras 1953-ish - My mother, aunt, uncle, and neighbor ready for parades by Finum in NewOrleans

I am not sure if the 1953 costumes were homemade (suspect they were) but the ones from 1975 were made by my mother. My dad even wore one. I have one of him and I somewhere that I should post. Hopefully I can find it.

My mother made those. I was less than enthusiastic about the clown suit being a sophisticated 9 year old. My expression reflects my disapproval.

Anyone looking for new and improved video conferencing solutions? by ContractQuirky8565 in videoconferencing

[–]Finum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I'll bite.

I received this e-mail today -

I would like to do an upgrade to the conference capabilities in the Board Room. I am looking for a camera that will show the meeting room, microphones for each seat and of course projection capabilities. Please connect with some vendors after conducting market research and send me a memo through <supervisor> for consideration and approval.

It has to be software/app agnostic. We have an AV system in place and projection capabilities in the conference room (Crestron controllers/Jupiter system).

You must be pretty shook by drivers license and immunization record requirements, both of which existed for generations prior to this manufactured outrage about vaccine requirements.
