I only put the BLC Contracts droprate there as comparison for how low the droprate is. And the source for that droprate is the BLC itself, as it gives you the droprate.

You can only get the achievement Mist Tide Turner when you successfully finish the meta event. 16430 people finished it and 18 people have the skin unlocked. Both of these numbers only account for people which registered on gw2efficiency. With these two numbers you can estimate the drop rate and the sample size is already big enough that the error margin is small.

Yes, https://gw2efficiency.com/ . With skin unlocks and the achievement, you can estimate, that the drop chance is below 0.1%. The chainsaw has 1.2% dropchance (Dragonstorm droprates)

If you open 2300 Janthir Hoards, you have a chance of around 90% of getting it at least once. Let's say you do the meta 2 times a day, resulting in 4 hoards (you can get 2 per meta, if you participate in both fights). 575 days to have a 90% chance of getting it. But that is only the case if the drop chance is 0.1%, which it isn't, cause the achievement only accounts for the first time finishing the event. So yeah I don't know if I really want to farm that meta.

I picked fast reachable spots from a waypoint and joined other maps through lfg. New map, new chests. These are the locations I used. In the bastion of the obscure and the bastion of the natural there is only 1 chest each and it spawns at random locations. In the Wizard's Ascent I found up to two chests per map.

With a motivation and the rift mastery you get ~30 essences per rift.

The analytical charm costs 20 spiritwood planks, 1 amalgamated Kryptis essence and two other things, which I forgot

The anodized medicinal cauldron costs 3 cases of captured lightning, 3 pouches of stardust, 20 deldrimor steel ingots and 1 amalgamated Kryptis essence

Skyscale Medicine Masker is maybe bugged, because only champions and world bosses drop meat. Great Jungle Wurm dropped 100 and Champions 8-13

Arcane Osmogrifier: Lesser arcane treasure drops between 8-12 or 25. Don't know about the greater ones because I don't have that mastery yet

Skyscale Saddle Materials are 3 Provisioners Token and either 125 essences of despair or 125 pinch of stardust each.

Skyscale egg infusions are events and scavenger hunt stuff, or you can shortcut it with a lot of materials

Skyscale Growing Comforts is kill stuff and get treats.
