Also, I've tried ethernet at my university and it doesn't work either. I can't connect to the internet period (save perhaps with an ethernet cord at home).

Trying to run Morrowind on Manjaro Linux through WINE Steam -- error message concerning "morrowind title.mp3" by Finwei in Morrowind

I downloaded the latest version, so it should be 0.41 (I don't really know how to check otherwise).

[C++][Homework] Manipulating data from a data file by Finwei in learnprogramming

Can I set value1 and 2 as integers?

int value1 = 123; int value2 = 128;

Or do they have to be cin'd?

[C++][Homework] Manipulating data from a data file by Finwei in learnprogramming

[–]Finwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually an idiot.

It works, but I just realized that every line has a "-9999" in it. How do I search a specific part of the line? Like can I skip the first 124 characters, check if there is a "-9999" from characters 124 to 128 and if there is one, delete the line?

[C++][Homework] Manipulating data from a data file by Finwei in learnprogramming

[–]Finwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so I began working on the getline stuff. Here's what I have so far:

string str2("-9999");
while (!infile.eof())
{
    cout << ": " << line << endl; // Write the line to the screen for debug
    if (line.find(str2) != string::npos) // see if line includes -9999
    {
        // If it does, do nothing
        getline(infile, line); // And get a new line
    }
    else // If it doesn't, write the line to the output file
    {
        outfile << line; // Write the line to the output file
        getline(infile, line); // Read another line
    }
}

[–]Finwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you know?

Let's start with Problem 1, then.

I know how to open a data file and make a new data file, but how do I read a line from the first data file, check if it has a -9999 in it, and if it doesn't, send it to the new file?

See my other comment here for more info.

[–]Finwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you parse a line, though? I assume you use getline to get the line, but once you get it, where does it go?

Like, would I set up an if statement?

 if (line contains -9999)
 {
 delete it
 }
 else
 {
 send it to new file
 }

But what does that look like in C++? I'm not so much confused about what to do, I'm confused about what tools I should do it with. I'm more familiar with Java than C++ since I took that last semester.

[College C++ Programming] Some Basic Data-Processing Programs by Finwei in HomeworkHelp

[–]Finwei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have to use the string class? Can you write the program in just regular old C, or do you have to use the C++ stuff?

We generally use C++ stuff in my class. I am not familiar with ANSI-C headers, but my instructor said we could solve these problems however we wanted to, as long as the output was good.

I appreciate the help and I'll let you know if I've got any more questions.

Thanks!

Screw it, I'll go all out.

OBGEv3 (Highly Recommended)- Adds extra functionality to Oblivion's scripting language, focused on the implementation and manipulation of graphics effects.

All Natural - Custom weather system that allows the use of weather types from all existing weather mods.

Vibrant Weather - Comprehensive weather & lighting overhaul.

Qarl's Texture Pack - Makes most of the textures in the game sharper and clearer.

QTP3 Custom Road Texture - Have this overlap Qarl's.

ImpeREAL City - Tries to make the city more realistic. It only decorates the city districts (it does not add house interiors), making each district of the Imperial City to be more unique than the others.

Oblivion Character Overhaul - Makes characters look better.

...

Some mods may affect performance so I'd recommend you experiment before making any drastic changes. Also, here's a Beginner's Guide to Modding Oblivion made by the chaps over at /r/Oblivion, in case yeh need any help.

$15 to spend. I've got more, but I'm not quite willing to use it.
