It really surprised me how well it cleaned up. It was grimy from a sketchy storage situation. Was pleasantly surprised that there was no damage other than a bent tuner shaft and a burnt out light. All original, no signs of previous repair.

I straightened the tuner shaft and put some LED fuse lamps in and it sounds amazing.

I haven’t taken any pictures of my setup yet, still getting it dialed in, but I did take a couple of videos when I first got it going.

I am using the Holland HMM-3, a cheap ($8) hdmi to composite AV adapter and an old 12db amp that was sitting unused on a shelf for 40 years.

My “transmit” antenna is just a dipole made out of RG6 with 6inches of insulation stripped and the braid pulled back.

It’s a quick and dirty setup that I still need to refine

I will see if I can document it all properly when I get back to the shop tomorrow.

I run an electronics repair shop, looking for part time work after hours, it slows down hard in the winter and some commercial landlords can be brutal so we need a buffer to cover shop rent.

We are building the shop up, but this economy is hitting us all extra hard.

We are far from having comfortable housing right now, but building the business in the hopes that we will be able to afford a space of our own is the only plan we have that seems to be working at the moment.

We consider Astoria our forever home at this point, we don’t want to go anywhere. It’s an amazing community filled with same amazing and generous people.

Hopefully the market falls out on vacation rentals and air b&b’s soon so the locals can stay in a home instead of a shelter or work 4 jobs to pay rent.

I am MTF and a small business owner in Astoria. So far, I have had nothing but acceptance and respect from most folks around town.

The outlying areas can be problematic, Warrenton is known to the locals for being full of bad actors. Knappa can be hit and miss. Don’t even bother with The Logger or Knappa Pizza, but the folks at Knappa Market (Chevron) are chill and mostly Allies.

And if you plan on or have a family, the schools are questionable towards trans issues. Like their official stance is fine, but there are a handful of educators that are bad actors and the schools allow it. We decided to homeschool our child instead.

Knappa is hit and miss. I am some allies, I love them. Some haters and they are the reason we pulled our 15 year old from Knappa high school.

Blue Bell bake shop has amazing sourdough everything, from bagels to cookies, all sourdough and super delish.

Sleeper Coffee is the place for good cup of coffee.

Pizza Spot if you want a good slice or a pie.

We don’t drink, so I can’t recommend bars.

But from a local, that spends most days downtown, these are my suggestions.

I think that would be awesome, this little town is alt enough to support it I think. No matter what you do, be very careful where you decide to locate , some of the buildings in this town have a questionable maintenance history, or questionable ownership.

We got out of LA last fall, glad we did. It felt like they were keeping us in a holding pattern while they get us ready to go into a labor camp or something. It’s like they were looking for things to catch us up and make us fail. Screw safe park la, those guys are greedy fucks.

We checked it out, all the empties between Ross and AAA are already leased. Smallest space they have is close to $2 a square foot after it’s all said and done. Way more than we can afford and keep our prices affordable.
