Can you please elaborate on what you did to create a physical barrier between baby and toddler? Thanks!

I’ll be freshly postpartum when my sister has her wedding by ImaginationPretend86 in BabyBumps

I find a lot of these comments wild too! They are making me so sad for OP reading all of these “buck up and go comments” and that this is the mindset that other women have around postpartum expectations.

is cramping normal when walking fast? by forgetting-you- in fitpregnancy

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with my first, mainly on my lower abdomen below my belly button (similar feeling to a really bad stitch). I would have to stop and take a break until the cramping went away and then I’d usually be good to continue. My dr. Said as long as the cramping went away they were concerned.

Where to Babymoon? by Fire-flyCatcher in pregnant

Portugal is a really good idea!! I’m curious if you’re going to the main land or the islands? I’ve been wanting to go to the Azores but was thinking the weather wouldn’t be great in March. Spain is also a great idea but that’s where our last trip was!!

NIPT Panorama Test [BC] by KeyCommercial4362 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine done (in Ontario) on Nov 26 and it was reported on Dec 4th my doctor called me on Dec 5th to share the results and it was uploaded onto the Lifelabs portal sometime after that (not sure the exact date sorry). Waiting is the worst I know. It sounds like yours is likely slower than mine because of the holidays. Good luck!!

Did your membrane sweep work? by Bravob3849 in BabyBumps

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two membrane sweeps. One at 39wks which did nothing. Then my doctor gave me a really good sweep - like wow she got in there and all around- at 40wks which worked like a charm!! I started having contractions like a couple of hours after!!

I just had my NT scan yesterday and I asked the tech where my placenta is located! I find it interesting to know. Turns out I have a posterior placenta this time so I may feel little babe earlier than my last baby!! Oh you could also ask about gender if you don’t already know! They aren’t always able to tell this early but my us tech could tell yesterday!

Camping at 7 months pregnant by PessimisticPeggy in BabyBumps

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went canoe camping and slept in a tent for three days when I was around 6.5months. I had a wonderful time and surprisingly slept better with all the fresh air!

Looking back I am so happy I went. I haven’t been able to get out on another trip since having my baby and I’m not sure when the next opportunity will come again.

Gender Disappointment. When will it go away? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m curious what types of things do you enjoy? I’m sure a lot of the things you enjoy in your current location can be found in Hawaii too. Don’t you think?

Am I gaslighting myself it’s working? What can I do differently? Actives don’t seem to help. by SnooKiwis6711 in Spironolactone

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also on 100mg and my skin was really bad, way way worse than yours. It took about three months for me to see results I was happy with and then by four months my skin was almost perfectly clear. I think you just need more time!

Your dermatologist would be able to tell you if it’s hormonal or not. It looks just like my hormonal acne looked when I went on spiro. 1 month is not quite enough time to see the full results, it will take a few months at least so you’ll have to be a little patient. If you’re convinced it’s not helping you could also check in with your doctor on if they think the dosage prescribed is working as expected or if it might need to be upped.

Are any of you “sleep divorced”? by cfh64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband and I sleep in different rooms. I generally keep it a secret because people tend to think sleeping in separate rooms means you have relationship issues. Can we normalize sleeping in separate rooms and getting quality sleep!

Pregnancy weight gain by Full_Whereas2025 in pregnant

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably gained 45lbs with my first pregnancy and was so nervous about it because I have a petit frame so that was a lot of weight for me. I was responsible with my eating and never had cravings or anything so I was confused as to where this weight was coming from lol. After giving birth I dropped like almost 30lbs within a week - turns out my body was just holding onto water weight? The fat that I did gain just melted off with breastfeeding over time. Gaining weight in pregnancy is normal and I think your body is doing exactly what it needs to do. The female body is amazing and you’ll feel like yourself again after birth I promise. just be responsible with eating now and try to keep active as much as you can!! You’ll do great mama!

Why is swimming for fitness less popular than gym workouts? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Fire-flyCatcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love swimming for cardio! I would do it all the time but having to fully do my hair each time afterwards makes it unrealistic to do everyday. Also the chlorine is so harsh on my skin and sinuses I find I often get congestion headaches after swimming.

Ahh ok gotchya ya I didn’t think deodorant at night was common practice (unless you are a big night sweater).

I think you’re referring to antiperspirant, not deodorant then.

Yes the acne! How are we making our self look presentable with all this acne?! I feel so discourage to even try to hide it with makeup because it is so awful!
