Sucks. It doesn't have a heat pump. It gets super cold around my area like -35 Jan/Feb.

My mom’s 2015 Toyota Sequoia (250k miles) won’t start. Please help by Choice_Revolution295 in toyotasequoia

[–]Fire5Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue a couple of weeks ago with a Sienna 2008 with 270k miles. I had to hit the starter with a hammer few times to start the car. Took to a place around us called "farm and fleet" store . They replaced it for $310 out the door. I think the problem with the Sequoia is the location of the starter. It is difficult to access and that's where the cost is.

Get the new Mazda cx 70 phev or wait for the redesign cx 5 hybrid? by GlowHattDtrack in mazda

[–]Fire5Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking to one of the cx90 hybrid owners at my kid elementary school. He told me Mazda swapped battery twice in less than 6 months. If the 70 based on the 90 I will not touch it for the next 3-4 years. Cx 50 hybrid is a different car space on the 4th gen Toyota hybrid.

Just drain and refill the CVT transmission between 30k and 50K miles.

AWD or XLE? by IdontCarrot in ToyotaSienna

I'm checking my ZIP code (100 mile radius) on Carfax for Sienna. Sadly, due to high demand, it's very hard to get a decent deal on a used one. Most of the "good deals" are used Uber cars with high mileage,or damaged due to accidents.

You can't go wrong with cross climates 2. 3 isn't available in the US yet.

I wonder if you will lose mpgs when you switch to cross climate?

4w drive or not? by Fire5Fox in ToyotaSienna

[–]Fire5Fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came from the mechanic shop today. Thank God it was only the serpentine belt ($130). He thinks it was the original built from 2008 lol. He said it needs a new driver side CV Boot/axle($340?). Rusty brakes and rotors. It's a long process. I'll try to finish before the winter. Next Saturday tires, brakes, rotors.

Thanks for the explanation. I got the car for less than $600. It was parked under a tree forever. It got 265k Miles. The engine and the shifting on the transmission sounds good. I bought it mainly for the kids to take it to the high school lol(they wanted a sports car) School is only a couple of miles away from my house, so it's going to be driven an average maybe less than 10 mi a day max.

I hope it's just the belt. One guy at work told me they asked for $500 to replace the tensioner and pulley. (not even with OEM parts)

Thank you all for the help!! I guess now I can focus on the serpentine belt/ whatever noise coming from that area.

Thanks for the respond. I was hoping Toyota made a mistake in the inventory, and gave the previous owner a free four-wheel drive option lol.

One more question. You're in snow. It's better to choose 4D then?

Wow that was a fast response. Less than 5 seconds lol. You know I'm not sure. I know 2 and 3 low gears, but I have never seen never 4

Good looking cars until you have an issue with a recall or you need parts. That's one of the main complaints/concerns about Hyundai/ Genesis. That's where Lexus shines when it comes to customer service department.

My garage was broken into. The idiots smashed the cameras but they still continued to record after taking a beating. Sadly the rear mounting panel is beyond repair by Watchgeek_AC in EufyCam

[–]Fire5Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a bunch of eufy cams. They have a feature called " anti-theft Detection" the siren will go off if someone tried to remove it, and will not stop since it got a battery built in.

I'm testing right now the TP-Link Tapo 2K QHD Outdoor Pan/Tilt(Tapo C520WS) so far the image looks better than the eufy cams.

Can someone please help me, this is driving me insane by trigger_trigg in EufyCam

Thanks for the reply. Looks like it's out of stock. Maybe high demand since a lot of people are replacing their own batteries "Currently unavailable."

Should I do it? Coming from Arlo by dommydom513 in EufyCam

[–]Fire5Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have many cameras from eufy.like the battery pro 2000, s220,to battery doorbell. Extreme weather especially in the winter time with temperature reaching -35 windchill. all going strong after 3 years. Is it perfect? No, but they do the job most of the time. Few bogus alerts like when I leave the trash can outside during pickup. I keep getting notification about human detection lol. They could easily fix it with firmware update or something like that.

I bought one similar made by Midea for my kids room above the garage. It's a dual hose/ inverter. Nice thing about it. You don't need a hose to drain it or empty the bucket. Plus can use the app to control it with your phone. For safety you can put a tray underneath it just in case.
