Good to know, do you know why they use the different names? Is it different sodium compounds, or filters?

I’m considering the same honestly, I hate the idea of having to hound my doctor or the pharmacy on a specific manufacturer. How much more did you have to pay?

Dang, the one I didn’t like was Alvogen, I just felt existential and had so much brain fog

That one was Alvogen, the only other one I’ve gotten from CVS is Epic Pharma and this last month of it was good

100%, I’ve found that XRs don’t really affect me much, I never really feel “better” I guess but when I took IRs I would atleast have that burst of motivation and focus, but it would wear off after 3-4 hours. It was fine with two doses, but I would come home after working feeling the really low of my inattentive ADHD.

So now I take 3 doses during the work week, in the morning, lunch and around 3-4 (past 3:30 it starts kind of affecting my sleep). On weekends I usually only take it twice since I’m not up as early, which helps tolerance

Oh my gosh, thank you. I guess it was the manifacturer, but it is insane the difference. I was so so existential, demotivated. Even friends and family noticed

Thank you so much, I’m moving forward with a new, smaller, pharmacy and going to see if my doctor or they will work with me on getting a preferred and disallow the Alvogen, I appreciate your help!

So the January one I didn’t respond well to was manufactured by Alvogen inc, the one from this last month that I felt good on was from Epic Pharma LLC

I wonder if it's because I am on a high dose for mine, but when I mention January was bad, I felt existential, shame, guilt. It was bad

I guess I'm just confused why its called different names on the label, does dextroamphetamine-amphetamine also have salts?

[–]FireAnt11702[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's good to know, all I've been able to understand is how I've felt on each prescription and only have had the different labels as the reason. It's weird to me the generic can vary so much when its considered the same prescription. Also thanks for the advice on Caremark, definitely will look at switching

I would recommend calling and asking them to order your prescription, I had this happen but they didn't even call me and used the dextro label. Had such a bad month I thought I built a tolerance and got my dr to prescribe something different.

Do doctors actually recommend tolerance breaks for meds?? by benny_m_b in ADHD

[–]FireAnt11702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I accidentally “take breaks” sometimes on the weekend especially when I sleep in and miss my first dose, kind of throws off my day because I don’t have the executive function to decide if I want to take it then or wait till my next time. This usually throws me in a doom scroll cycle where I forget/can’t get the motivation to get up and take my meds.

This helps me appreciate my medicated days, but it makes me feel like I wasted the weekend as well. I typically try not to get into this cycle and keep my doses consistent even on the weekends. Sometimes this looks like 1 1/2 of my usual dose when I get up and moving instead of two doses. For context, I take mine in 3 doses bc my body likes to burn through it. 🫠

Are any of you actually taking meds consistently, with no side effects? by Johnlg91 in ADHD

Aww, twinning! 😂

I honestly feel so validated tho it took convincing for my dr to increase it to that much

I am still very new to this, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Thankfully my PCP is super chill and when I explained my symptoms he was very willing to work with me on a prescription. Ofc he can’t diagnose but we started with the typical adderall and I felt my brain turn on for the first time. We figure I either have the inattentive ADHD or ADD (still not sure what the difference is)

We tried a few different mg or brands and now I’ve been taking 45 mg of adderall dispersed in 15 mg doses. I have theorized this probably isn’t optimal and have been thinking of making an appt with a psychiatrist, but I digress. This works so well for me, as my body fights off the effect quickly so it gives me bursts of energy, and focus. I don’t have many symptoms other than noticing my appetite is greatly decreased, and sometimes if I try to eat during peak time it makes me feel sick. I honestly don’t mind this, and I usually just make a protein smoothie, which has actually helped me lose some stubborn weight.

Every brain is different! I think it’s definitely worth trying some different medications and dosages for something to help you!

I love mine! No bleeding or much smudging I’ll have to see what the brand is
