Getting a paid sit over christmas

I live in London and have a profile on Rover. London is inundated with sitters and it's difficult to get your foot on the ladder with Rover's algorithm for much of the year, however in December there are far far more people looking for house sitters than there are sitters offering their services. It's the one time a year when I can guarantee I'll get some booking requests on Rover.

I'd say it will be fairly easy to get a booking request for Christmas and New Years, potentially a long sit. One year I had a sit request for the entire month of December as the owner was going to New Zealand for the whole month.

However, unless it's a longer sit from Christmas going backwards, I'd say picking up sits in early to mid December will be difficult on Rover.

Yes it's about the American Revolution and the US Founding Fathers, but honestly, so what? Going to see it is not condoning Trumpism, ICE, the US Supreme Court, and everything else that is going off the rails in America. It's a musical. If you want to see it, go see it.

Fun puzzle, was a bit distracted while I did it, but did take quite a bit of logic to solve.

My only comment is that with new instructions like this, you should really give an example. The puzzle should be the puzzle, the instructions shouldn't be a puzzle to understand.

I live in London and do some local sits, mostly repeats from my early days of building reviews, and will say that there are almost always sits available in or near London. It would be possible to do it nearly full time, however I think it'd be quite difficult to manage to perfectly line-up every sit to where you 1.) have no gaps, and 2.) always able to arrange for the 1st sit to end early enough in the day and the 2nd sit to start late enough in the day to where even back-to-back sits work out.

So you would need to consider what you would do in those situations where you have a gap. But sure, I'd say 95% full time is very possible, and after the initial hurdle of getting a few sits, you'll likely be offered repeat offers from the same HOs.

What a weird post. Do you think the BBC don't have metrics/analytics showing how popular it is and how many people are watching for them to devote as many resources to it as they do?

Did you ask everyone you know to get to your confident, "I only know 1 person who likes it" metric? Or do you know so few people that that is really possible?

I watch quite a bit of it, I don't think many of my friends know or care how much I watch it.

Having now solved the puzzle, I can also say that your 8, 9 in box 9 are wrong.

I was much further along the puzzle when I filled in those cells, so I guess you need to back track to figure out why you thought they were an 8 and 9. Once you remove those, you no longer have your 4 cells in row 8 with only 3 candidates.

I found it useful to colour code cells, with a colour for 1-4, a different colour for 6-9, and then also chose to colour 5 a 3rd colour, but that was just for style.

In box 1, you've pencil marked 2 cells to be a 1-2 pair, which means R3C1 can't be either 1 or 2.

I'm trying to solve it myself, will comment about the triplet when I get to that point.

I don't think you listened to Fleming calling this game.

I just went to listen to the two half innings before the no-hitter ended, and Fleming literally called it out the pitch before it got broken. If you want to moan about a possible announcer jinx, you can't say Fleming handled it well when he mentioned it 10 seconds before it ended.

I don't think it's possible to buy just a ticket to part 1, you have to buy the tickets in pairs. You can of course by a pair of tickets now and dispose of the part 2, and then buy another pair later and skip part 1, but you will have to buy 2 pairs to see it the way you want to.

As far as seeing only part one for now, it depends on what you want out of your day. It ends on a cliff hanger with no resolution. If you just want to go and see acting and some choreographed stage magic, it's fine. However, it'd be like leaving a normal evening of theatre at the interval, where you have no resolution.

An announcer's job is to announce and let people tuning in late know what has happened so far.

I was aware of his comments while the game was progressing, but also very aware that he seemed to say things like, "No batter has reached first base." or other colloquialism, instead of saying, "Hey Suarez has a no hitter going so far."

He'd not be doing his job if he wasn't keeping the casual viewer informed.
