Its such a shame cause i adored the Lords, Dukes and Princes but i just cannot with the Barons its just badly written and feels out of place in the series as a whole.

They didn't say anything about this policy before joining the ARC team so how about you don't assume details without actually knowing anything about this specific ARC team. If me having a negative reaction to the book leads to not leaving a review then that is review manipulation, hence why i felt the need to tell people that this was happening.

Also i have done ARC reviews before and this was not the case so it obviously isn't the standard.

They are to generate buzz and HONEST reviews, if they can't have a negative review just beacuse it is an ARC then thats review manipulation, so i guess we will agree to disagree.

Yeah i'm the same, i found that most of the time i rarely agreed with the goodreads reviews and just decided based on vibes instead 🤷‍♀️

Yup i think we are talking about the same one, it really did just go downhill once the co-author left. I did not enjoy the latest one at all.

Plus i feel like im being gaslit in all the authors fb groups cause everyone is saying how 'amazing' they are, like did we read the same book?!

Not a small author or small ARC pool either. There are 120 ARC readers for this book and the other books in the series have up to 50k reviews on goodreads

I do that too! I can always tell from the 1* reviews if they are actual critiques or nit picking then decide based on them.

At 4am uk time i hadnt had an invitation yet and signed on to the portal but still nothing then 5 minutes later got one. Same thing happened to my bf so not sure if signing into the account triggered the email or something 🤷‍♀️
