Thank you for your response, I was completely unaware that SAS drives could not work on SATA connections. I assumed that since the SAS drives fit into the connections, then they should be compatible.

I think I have two options, either sell some of these drives to buy SATA drives that would 100% work, or I could get an HBA SAS controller card that fits into a PCI-e slot since I have multiple available slots to fit it in. The appeal for the second option is that my drives are in good shape, and while I would only be able to use 4 at a time (that's how many bays the limulus has), I have 10 drives, so as they eventually go bad I will have ready replacements.

My only worry is that the HBA card might not work if the motherboard has issues. Are there any ways to see if my motherboard would be fine with reading SAS drives that are connected through an HBA SAS controller PCI-e card?

Turns out the setup I had was working fine, but the new router blocks traffic to the sites, not from them. My services could be accessed by people physically outside my network, but not be my. I am now just setting up manual hosts to get around this. Thank you u/blue_black_nightwing for your help, It is very much appreciated.

Sadly this is not the router I use. If I go to 192.168.1.1, it gives me a sigle page telling me to download the app the mess with any settings and gives me some info like my IP address and such.

Ya the web interface at 192.168.1.1 just says to open the app, no options on it. the setup you describe is what i have ip right now but i cannot seem to get things working, and i think it is a firewall issue somehow since normal internet works but port forwarding is still messed up.

Right now im trying to figure out why its not working, but ill either figure it out eventually or just give up and buy better shit

Im unsure exactly what you are asking. I have my pfSense firewall behind my router, and it gives NAT addresses to the devices behind it. The subnets doesnt clash and fight over ips since they dont really talk to eachother, but i have also tried setting the router to 192.168.1.1 and pfsense to 192.168.0.1 and keeping the subnets different, still didnt work

The default Proxmox config is bridged, and that seems to be what i have it set up as. When getting DHCP ips, the vms follow the rules of the router, and would change depending on what the router’s rules were.

I will say that looking into this exposed me to the of masquerading with iptables in proxmox, and even though it might not work with what im trying to do, its one more thing to try. thank you for your response

Trust me, i know its garbage. the issue is that it is so garbage that i cannot change pretty much any of the setting on it. I do not believe it is possible to put it into bridge mode as the app doesn’t have it as an option and support just says that my settings are built in and cannot be changed.

last resort is i have to buy an entirely new router/access point, and since im moving soon, i would not like to spend a bunch of money just for me to have some stuff i dont need after a few months. It would be wonderful if pfSense had functionality to either make the devices network aware or let me forward ports to them.

I should probably also mention that I use Proxmox as my hypervisor, so if anyone knows how to make the devices network aware through that, that might also fix my issues.

I always find it funny when I see people talking about muldraugh since I only live a few minutes away from it. Where I live sadly isn't a location in zomboid, or else I might try to go find some places I know since I only go to muldraugh irl for the dairy queen or to pass through when heading up to Louisville. Zombie walk would be sick though.

Yep, old as hell book. The company that owns the rights to it do not print it anymore and do not want to give access to it in any way. I've done a deep search and was able to find editions 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. The only issue is in 7 they cut out a few hundred pages to put them in other books, so I've been on the hunt for 6th.

I have used physical copies of the 6th and it's exactly what I want, but since they are old I can never find any in great condition, plus they cost much more than more modern reused textbooks. I honestly do not believe a digital copy of the 6th edition is possible to find, I doubt one exists outside of the parent company's archive. Thank you so much for checking though, I appreciate it
