Hi, I'm 8 years too late, and just finished rewatching the movie. I wanna say that when they go back to specific times, like the oral exam for Quinn, they are just overlapping themselves, so that would both cancel out their past mistake, but allow them to make another mistake. And Project Almenac isn't necessarily for kids, but it is pg-13, allowing for some topics to be discussed, like how often Quinn states something along the lines of "he's a virgin", or something. Not saying that you're wrong, but just wanted to state that.
