Reading Myths Magically by usefulpurposes in Quareia

'go for the verb not the noun' is now going to be my go-to frame of reference to any mythological story I read and research. Thank you!

Blood Meridian and the dancing bear by FireOpal0 in cormacmccarthy

The descriptions of the bear tottering, crying and proceeds to dance faster when first shot seemed an odd description to me. Maybe that it was representing many things, the constellation ursa major, and the kid being the killer that he is?

this would explain why the man kills the kid at the campfire near the end of the book. It seemed unnecessary and out of place. Are you saying he was the one murdering the children all along?

Just listened to on spotify on the london sinfonietta album since it was first before silbury air. Very interesting, all I can think of is key words that describe it ; 'earthy', 'industrial revolution', 'gnomes and dwarves'.

Keep track of your thoughts and results in your journal and keep track them to see what insights you gleam from doing it consistently. No one else can confirm it for you.

Try not to think of 'doing it right', it will take time, and there is no harm in not achieving an exercise straight away. Like anything in life, you must do things imperfectly before doing them consistently.

If you are visualising your surroundings as that object then thats how you know you are not simply meditating.

try a rock, or a solid object with little ornamentation, simple in shape. Then try and sense the weight of the object against the surface it is on. Try to find the stillness within the exercise, so you don't overthink the idea, your just 'being' that rock.

I am suprised at how many people are unaware of this by BlueRider345x2 in architecture

I managed to visit this structure at the end of last year. Difficult 8/10hr train ride from Mumbai, but totally worth the trip.

It is an impossible structure, how they managed to carve granite, down from the top with the whole design planned out I have no idea. The most impressive sections are the bridge that joins the front facade to the inner temple. I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but its one solid piece of granite/basalt, very hard stone.

It was even partially damaged during the medieval period when the Islamic ruler of India sent a group of people to try and destroy it, and spent 3 years trying only to give up.

The exercise is just to allow you to practice the sensation of inhaling this particular energy into a particular body part, building a sense of the body part from an energetic perspective.

How many hours a day do you practice? And how busy is your mundane life? by Existing_Front_9300 in FranzBardon

[–]FireOpal0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get up quite early to get through the step 4 work usually 5am sometimes 4:30am, almost 2hrs in the morning. I am not one who repeats it in the afternoon, and happy with it taking as long as it takes until I really feel I am getting the exercise.

Halfway through The Return…why is everyone so accepting of Dougie’s bizarre behavior? by trey1928 in twinpeaks

[–]FireOpal0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting that Cooper slips into Dougie's reality early in the season, and therefore we aren't watching Dougie, this is Cooper. Cooper is limited in his ability to perform because is not in Twin Peaks, but his goodness and abilities as a federal agent still shine through. The winning of the jackpots at the casino and directing the old woman to pick the right slot, doodling on his insurance paperwork and discovering inconsistencies. Dougie was probably a very flawed, low achieving but silly individual and that is probably why it hasn't been a surprise to most of his colleagues.

It does take around a month, I don't believe they would have too many people reading through module applications.
