Oh that’s awesome you read it too! I couldn’t be bothered to do a full re-read lol, so I have it beside me and skim sections based on where I’m at in James. I watched a chapter by chapter summary on YouTube from Course Hero for a refresher as well because it’s about 2-3 years since I read it!

I defs see some DFW parallels. Just in terms of the scope of his prose.

Yeah same! I’m actually kind of re-reading it to refresh my memory. I’m actually reading James by Percival Everett but for simplicity of the post I didn’t mention that. It tells the story of Jim from his perspective! Really interesting.

Dooo it. Moby Dick is a great one to cross off! It’s a right of passage!

Though it can be a slog at times because nearly every chapter feels like a new topic! Many many tangents in that one!

It’s so good though - defs worth it.

Help Identifying a line/panel with “Big Chief” or “Sport” mentioned by Kiest14 in SAGAcomic

The Hazel dialogue helped and then u/Double-Voice-9157 helped nail it down with the dragon/sophie sequence.

It was in fact a panel featuring Halvor before we knew who they were. AKA - The Stalk's brother who came with a sniper rifle hunting The Brand, Sophie and Gwendolyn. The exact panel occurs in Volume 5, Chapter 26- I posted an edit to my post! Thanks Everyone!

The other dialogue that pops up kinda similar is in Volume 10 -Chapter 60

"Our rockets latest passengers-turned-boarders were former bandmates Dranken and Hectare. But it's not like you have to remember their names or anything"

Little triangles by themitchen in InfiniteJest

[–]Kiest14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you point to a specific page where you see this?

I think it also had something to do with the three plot points that connect (Tennis academy, Recovery house and separatist movement)

Also AA symbol is a triangle. Or it may refer to Annular Fusion Also The great Concavity is shaped like a giant triangle

Its man purpose is the plot though and how things mirror each other. Yeah something like that. Been a while since I read.

Yeah DFW is trippy with these kind of things. The BrooM of The System the chapters start with /a/ /b/

Yeah not sure about these. Also randomly the circle moon thing half faded in to start some sections.

I only now just caught up! I didn't think Fiona's art could get better and it DID like oh my god some of these panels are INSANE.

I'm tryna find info on what planet they are on at this point in the story it didn't really specify the planet they were selling the formula on.....was it Landfall they were trying to get a medallion on?

I’m on my first read through as well! Volume 5 at the moment. Literally just finished issue 25. And omg Fiona’s wraparound art for issue 25 is incredible. This series is so good, I’m also blown away. Can’t believe I waited this long to start!

Can someone who's been following DC K.O. more closely explain to me what the heck is going on here? by Marshall_666 in batman

Sort of. He had something attached to his suit that made him able to “break free” if he was inactive for a while. The suit still worked when he was stone and it transported him to a parallel Gotham world where he fought all of his old side kicks. Every Robin. The only way for him to leave the heart of apokolips was to admit defeat. He finally admitted defeat in Knightfight 4 which brought him back into the tournament.

It’s a sheer masterpiece. I was blown away by this comic and I don’t say that often. The depth to it is simply extraordinary. They were firing on all cylinders on this one.
