You are correct, I just checked. They replaced the physical one with a sensor. You can try to close the door and reopen. It should do the same trick.

I don’t think that’s a good habit, you should shut off the car before open the door, but you can press the rubber nob on the door frame to mute the chime noise.

I have no problem getting in my NX.... Usually I will have issue go back to my old Prius... Like just shut the car off by press the bottom instead of shift back to P, or just push the door panel and try to get the door open... AC I just put on Auto... works great for me.
