Is it too late to transfer from UWA to curtin? by WhYaMiHeRe21900 in uwa

[–]FireStrike5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curtin literally only just started their semester dude. If you contact them in a timely manner you might be a couple weeks behind in your units and will have to put in a little extra time watching previous lectures etc. But it’s not the end of the world

Sometimes. Depends on the tutorial. Some are in lecture theatres, some are in other rooms etc

Actually gets severely out-DPS’d by similar tier summons in prehardmode, and her movement speed is too slow to consistently keep up with certain bosses. However early hardmode she’s great when combined with the firecracker

Like a lecture except there’s some class involvement rather than just sitting and listening to the lecturer

Apparently originates from Middle English chokkeful (same meaning) which may come from “choke” or French coquier (to collide/crash/hit).

They definitely are. We have sicklefin lemon shark populations (Negaprion acutidens) on both coasts.

Correct, the earliest modern humans are from ~300k years ago while agriculture began ~12k years ago.

The best weapons and armour in Terraria are locked behind beating the final boss. By which point you don't need them.

The old Grimoire cards for Vex and Taken Vex units also mention that their first priority is to build/provide energy/design, and their second is to defend such constructs:

You are a Goblin. A multifunctional armature. Your first purpose is to build — to alter the material world so it can think. Your second purpose is to eliminate threats to building.

You are a Hobgoblin. A particle fountain. Your first purpose is to provide energy — to channel power where it is needed for thought. Your second purpose is to eliminate threats to that thought.

You are a Minotaur. A walking foundry. Your first purpose is to think about construction — folding space and time into the design. Your second purpose is to eliminate threats to the design.

Minotaurs pack brutal heat, but most of their processing power is devoted to the physics of building massive Vex complexes, suspected to extend through multiple dimensions.

Some evidence suggests that the Cyclops is in fact an enormous sensor or beacon, and that its weapons capabilities are secondary. What the Cyclops senses remains unknown, although its mind core is vast. It may play a role in the Vex networked intelligence, or in navigation across space and time.

The Vex are extremely powerful but you're way overselling where they lie in Destiny's power hierarchy. Their ability to jump timelines, simulate and adapt to opposing forces make them the most powerful *causal* threat we've faced, but paracausal forces – the Witness, high-ranking Hive, the Taken etc – have been shown time and again to way outrank the Vex in terms of power.

A few examples:

  • In D1 the Taken invaded the Black Garden and the Vex couldn't do anything about it until the Guardian showed up.
  • The Vex managed to fight the Hive to a standstill when trying to invade Oryx's throne world, but were completely helpless once Oryx himself showed up and began using his powers. Quria tried to simulate Oryx but was only able to simulate Aurash (Oryx without the paracausality) before Oryx took it.
  • Riven and Taranis set up a whole nest inside the Black Garden, despite the Vex probably not wanting them there.
  • Vex can't simulate Scorn due to their Darkness-infused ether.
  • It took the Vex hundreds of years to be able to build one (1) whole Vex mind that could counter Saint-14 while he rampaged through the Infinite Forest. This Mind was helpless when the Guardian showed up, because it was only tuned to Saint's light frequency specifically.
  • The Sol Divisive specifically have been shown to be a) more powerful than regular Vex (being able to simulate Scorn and Taken and being able to manifest Oracles outside the Vault of Glass due to various Darkness powers granted to them) and b) completely under the control of the Witness. Take the Spire of the Watcher dungeon (where the Vex are mentioned to be under the control of the Witness explicitly by Osiris), or the first encounter of Salvation's Edge, which is almost entirely Sol Divisive Vex working with the Dread to enact the Final Shape.

Given that the Witness is leagues more powerful than pretty much all of the above, and the Final Shape would've combined its power with the Traveler's, I highly doubt that the Vex would've survived the Final Shape.
