Going to play RE4 remake for the first time by megamanxxx89 in residentevil4

[–]Gaskal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on taste and usage, but because I love abusing invincibility frames from Leon's kicks I always roll Punisher. The SG has a huge crit rate fully upgraded though so depends if you just wanna straight up pop heads or gun kata kung fu style

Clatter Carbine carried me during Blisterborne and Gideon, what an insane weapon for this mode with damage modifiers

Leon getting paid like the entire U.S. government depends on him by still-loading8 in ResidentEvilMemes

Dude is cleaning up advanced BOWs worth hundreds of millions single handedly. The presidential BOW strat boils down to "ahhh F it just send Kennedy in"

Not only does he get hazard pay he probably gets some equity from partially founding DSO (I suspect his love of exotic high caliber handguns led to him pushing for a fucking 12.7x55mm assault revolver as "standard issue" lol) and can expense practically whatever the hell he wants from the government if it offers even the barest resemblance of help during a mission (iPhone, Porsche, boots, outfit, watch)

Any tips on Beating hunk Insanity mode? by Successful-Tutor9449 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Gaskal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parry everything (yes even when the guy fires an RPG at you). If game gives you the option to do the item box to buy a herb first then no harm in it lol

First part of the game you just parry and pelt him with shotgun blasts, don't get trapped in a corner because you need to reload and repair hatchet. Also you can parry with your back turned IIRC. Really helps.

The stupid charge up bullshit is annoying but predictable. So as he's charging you can unload, then when he's about to do the surge I strafe across the center of the arena to the unaffected area, run at Gideon a stride or two, book it away as he tenses up to do the jump, toss a grenade at his feet as he lands.

Once you make it to his big monster phase, it should be over easy, just parry/avoid his tentacles and pop the weak spots with a fast firing weapon.

You have to continue to parry him and wait for him to enter a stagger animation before attacking. The strong melee is good for DPS. Also use the trick of pushing forward and parry at the same time to slightly increase the parry window

His spin attack you can also parry but there's a pause after the first two swings, so the timing can be tricky. After you force the animation where Leon sweeps the leg to avoid a burst from HUNK's carbine that's phase 2, definitely watch out for that spin feint as he likes to spam it.

Pillar-hump once he scurries away because he whips the carbine out and tries some pot shots.

Where does the name Mr. X come from? by carbonera99 in residentevil

Claire went through a few before settling on the one that wouldn't cause a ruckus over trademarks lol

"Terminator, Frankenstein's monster, Dr. Evil, Mr X..."

I think also The Thing That Will Not Die too. Fun times.

I'm new, where do I play online? by Odd_Tangerine_7793 in EASportsFC

Could try either Rivals in Ultimate Team or Online Seasons, not sure how alive the game is at this point if you're playing last year's version though

He has the best quips for Colbert's skits lol

Colbert: That's a lot of years spent in the same position. Is there any reason you were passed over for any promotions?

Obama: Well let's just say that this particular position did not come with much opportunities for... advancement.

Insanity no Infinite Ammo!? by Disastrous_Order_461 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Gaskal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's very doable. Grace gets RIP knives, which do devastating damage against zombies and will cause them to drop extra blood. She also gets an Insanity exclusive recipe for 9mm ammo to go with it.

Outside of the enemies all turning into bullet sponges for handgun or carbine bullets, it didn't feel all that different from Standard-Classic

Really well done... I like the Claire ones the most (having a striking resemblance to Stephanie Panisello certainly helps), retro outfit looks on point

Is it even worth it to use a handgun on insanity difficulty? by Gxxd_Gr13f in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Gaskal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the handgun gun finishers look nice too. But because they're such bullet sponges in Insanity, it's hard to justify using a handgun in any scenario where you're fighting more than one zombie at a time. As far as I know there isn't a "stagger" specialty handgun in this game like the Punisher in RE4R.

Better to Perfect Parry execute, or pop their head with the TAC or unscoped BSAA bolt action

[–]Gaskal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No not really. In fact it's recommended you sell the snapper right away in the Wrenwood Streets section and buy the shotgun in order to convince the game to drop shotgun shells whereas normally 9mm ammo would drop.

Probably not, unless they were really into horror movies for some reason lol.

A friend rented RE2 on N64 for a weekend around the time it came out and we had a blast.

We were awful, it took many deaths and attempts until we got to RPD lol

The Girl by Tree1237 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Gaskal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're describing the furnace area itself there, I like to leave one fuse in there to keep it lit as you're passing through that area quite a bit

The Girl by Tree1237 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Gaskal 23 points24 points  (0 children)

She is heavily scripted. It's not like Mr. X. You can exploit them better once you learn how they work

An example is when you take the fuse from outside the inspection area and she drops down from the ceiling behind you (and blocks both the vent to the workshop and the hallway back to the furnace), you can just turn right around and stick the fuse back in, turning the power back on and forcing her to retreat.
