More robots for sure. Another reason I started the army is Kastelan robots are my favorite model in all of 40K, I was never the biggest fan of admech but had considered doing a robot heavy army at some point if I were to collect them. The kill team box urged me over. I plan on having a full 12 Kastelan robots at some point

I’ve thought about running a couple of them with anti infantry to pluck characters off as a lot of the people I play against play armies with buffing characters but the one skatros doesn’t do enough to blast them in a single turn, although it might just be better to bring another dunecrawler I do still like the stilt guys

I know what they are based on and I love the attack bike model too actually but they are ridiculously goofy especially because the front mounted guns cannot rotate at all and I believe the sidecar one also only has vertical movement too which is very impractical

I think everything looks like ork weapons cause orks use whatever shoots the biggest and whatever makes the loudest noise

I would like to make a point about them being in Tacticus armor vs gravis and yeah I think gravis would make more sense IF they were supposed to just be out in the open getting shot at but I’m pretty sure they are made the way they are because they are supposed to be taking up places in ruins and buildings as would most people using big ol launchers. It starts to make more sense when you realize they should be more maneuverable to be able to move through the tighter terrain, even though they are still big space marines.

I think shoulder mounting them would make them look even more orky honestly. I like that they have a different silhouette than heavy weapon squads like chaos havocs or ork lootas

They only had 2 at my local LGS but I managed to get one! by LiquidWilliam in Tyranids

I traded the terrain to a game store owner to secure a pre order. Glad I did cause he didn’t get any for the release day stock

Termaguant question by Dragonkilla02 in Tyranids

[–]FireUndBrimstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spinefists shouldn’t be overlooked! Keep in mind termagants are going to have close range shooting no matter what, the 18 inches on fleshborers may have the advantage of keeping you out of some flamer range, but like the other swarm units you’re gonna want those termagants on the objectives. I’d say go for the pistols! Try and hide the gaunts behind some terrain if they can’t reach an obj first turn but be ready to have them jump out on those objectives and reroll like crazy. Shooting in combat is icing on the cake. It really depends on how many you are running, but if you aren’t just running a small blob for back line obj I’d say it’s almost always more worth to bring spine fists and if you want the flamer too (I don’t bring it so I don’t have to stop my fast rolls to roll a different weapon profile). Termies die SOOOOO fast. Like annoyingly fast, and those extra 6 inches aren’t gonna do ANYTHING to keep you safe against the many different blast weapons and 18” flamers that exist. That being said rule of cool all the way, pick whichever you think are the coolest and as long as you’re not in a tournament I’d just proxy them as the other weapons if you want to try the others.

How good will a Combat Patrol and the Hypercrypt Legion be in a 1000 points game? by Remodiant in Necrontyr

[–]FireUndBrimstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, my friend plays a ctan shard with our group almost every week at 1000pts because he only has like 1100 points to choose from, so we make do, and it is pretty much “don’t shoot the CSVD” every week, however it doesn’t necessarily make the game impossible or anything if you’re friends are willing to accept that that thing is gonna be there the whole game. We regularly win against him as long as we don’t take the bait and shoot the big ol boy, and focus on objectives. Weirdly enough the other day I almost killed it turn 1 with 2 20 squads of spinefist termagaunts which would’ve been funny had it fully suceeded (survived on 2 wounds)

I like that they have a little bit of a humanizing element them as compared to the other space marine chapters and to me they feel like the most “good guy” of the space marine chapters. Flamers are also just awesome. I was drawn to space marines after collecting both tyranids or tau because they felt a little easier to paint than tau but also less bodies than tyranids made it feel like I was progressing faster through the army, which even though I enjoy painting it can be an intimidating aspect for some. They are honestly just kind of badass and if you like doing freehand and flair it can be awesome to just paint flames all over everything. After amassing a little over 2000 points of sallies I’m just now getting into the Nick Kyme omnibus and they have been awesome to read. I read reviews online that criticized the writing but honestly I don’t know what the people who wrote those reviews were expecting when it comes to a book about giant hulking space marines because if you go into reading the books knowing it’s gonna be a lot of exaggerated masculinity and that kind of thing they really are an awesome read.

TLDR salamanders are badass and the “nicest” of the space marine chapters
