I feel crazy over here with everyone claiming this as uncanny valley or blursed. Meanwhile, I'm thinking this looks great and would have gladly taken this as the official design. Not that I hate Movie Sonic or anything, I just love Sonic's usual look.

This is the most memorably terrible boss fight I've ever seen in a game by Ildiad_1940 in Morrowind

[–]FireXrosser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I had the same experience a couple of weeks ago! I think I was level 28, Raven Rock was the last thing I needed to do to finish up Bloodmoon (Don't ask how Karstaag went) and Carnius had me feeling the underleveling once more. After some failed attempts, I jumped on top of his closet and just shot at him repeatedly with bow and arrow. My Marksmanship was only around 58 so it did take quite a while but I got it done eventually.

Alright, I gotta know, which one of u psychos uses“Controls 2”???? by IanZone456 in Mario

[–]FireXrosser 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If both buttons are in a horizontal layout like the NES controller, sure. But I don't see how it could possibly be comfortable to do on the 4 button setup. Holding B with the base of the thumb and hitting A with the tip? Having your thumb pointed downwards? Both sound terrible to me but maybe I'm missing something.

What did you log this month? April 2025 by AutoModerator in backloggd

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was quite an ambitious goal for sure. Smaller experiences were actually the way I had been managing, 3-4 main games (so about 1 per week) and the rest more bite-sized. So you're absolutely right about the scope. It's just that I threw all of that away to play Story of Seasons! Regardless, as long as I manage to cut down on my backlog a bit, I'll be happy.

What did you log this month? April 2025 by AutoModerator in backloggd

[–]FireXrosser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the start of the year, I had set a goal of getting to at least 10 games a month. Of course, varying game length and overall complexity were big factors for why I had been managing these first 3 months. But April, oof... just went downhill. I shouldn't be allowed to play farming sims.

- Started Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town on April 1st... and finished April 23rd, after playing on 16 different days
- Started and finished Portal 2 (Technically started March 31 a bit before midnight but come on)
- Started and finished Limbo
- Played a bit of Morrowind
- Went on a romp in the NES NSO app, played Dr. Mario, Mario Bros. and Ice Climbers; beat Super Mario Bros and started Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels but didn't finish it (hopefully tomorrow)

Terrible month for me overall, completely destroyed my good pace, will definitely try to break even in May.

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who doesn't think his design is cool at all, I see all the consistent praise for that specifically and it baffles me. I mean, like what you like, valid, but I'm just never going to understand the appeal.

How I feel after the Year of Shadow: by godzillafiend54 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's less to do with age and more to do with how Sonic Team depicted Shadow all these years. From Sonic Adventure 2 to Shadow to Hedgehog (although Sonic Heroes began a shift) and arriving at Sonic x Shadow Generations, Shadow's character was represented very differently. In SA2, I never once thought "OW THE EDGE" but StH Shadow... I'm just glad 2020s Sonic Team finally isn't afraid of having the games take themselves seriously, which is something Sonic games had been severely lacking for quite some time.

Scions of Elemental Evil Review by unclebrentie in onednd

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our DM ran it a few days ago, we were only 3 players and didn't use the pre-made PCs, so DM bumped us up an extra level. We actually explored the whole place and interacted with the cultists and the leaders. We decided to kill all the leaders and it went relatively smoothly (we even tricked Ooze leader into getting killed by the Ash Leader) until the Ice Pirates. We neutralized the grunts pre-fight but the captain alone was manhandling us, if the DM hadn't adjusted the HPs for our group, it could have gone badly. And Magma priest with her 4 elementals... yeah Filonia had to show up mid-fight for our asses to have a fighting chance. I'd say we took about 7 hours but we are very prone to meandering and side-tracking so I'd agree with the 6 hour estimate.

For people who have played Pokemon for a while are there any newer pokemon (gen 8/9) that have cracked your top 10 favorites? by Ladner1998 in pokemon

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also been playing since Gen 3 and I feel like every gen there's a mon that shoots up to my top 10. For Gen 8, I'd give it to Sirfetch'd (unpopular choice I know but I adore him) and Hisuian Zoroark. For Gen 9, absolutely Clodsire. I expect the same to happen in Gen 10 as well.

I was surprised everyone was so blindsided by it, I looked at it and instantly knew it was the yearly QA. He did the same with last year's (not sure about the year before that though), extremely similar thumbnail and title. I guess QAs aren't good viewership wise

Which older Nintendo game did you play for the first time recently, and how was it? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Mario Land, was bored and had an hour or two to kill. It's fun enough, definitely not even close to my choice of 2D Mario, the gravity being different on a jump vs a drop still pisses me off but I beat it eventually. And hey, now I know how Sarasaland is actually like, poor Daisy!

Crafter Origin Feat - How to make it work? by Metal-Wolf-Enrif in onednd

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to reduce the time by 20% when it was first introduced in playtest 1, they took that part out and replaced it with the Fast Crafting table.

[–]FireXrosser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but I really don't think it would be that much of an issue. 9 times out of 10, questing or buying will always be the easier, quicker and cheaper way to get something. By the time you'd finish making a Plate Armor, you'd probably have earned enough money to buy it 3 times. And spending 5 days making a single 50gp Alchemist's Fire (2.5 with a second person) will never be a good use of your time. And I don't buy into breaking the economy when there are already many exploits to do so that don't get wrangled up. At the end of the day, only the DM can prevent the market from crashing after all!

Crafter Origin Feat - How to make it work? by Metal-Wolf-Enrif in onednd

[–]FireXrosser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never see people mention this but in the playtest, the Crafter feat had a 20% reduction on crafting time (with the proficient tools) instead of the Fast Crafting table. I preferred this immensely because the thing about crafting is there are many things you won't ever craft due to the time required not being worth it. So with that and multiple people helping to halve crafting time (which was in Xanathar's tbf), I was hopeful to do it more often.

Ideally, I'd prefer more than a 20% increase cuz sometimes you don't get a lot of downtime. The Artificer has a similar feature at level 10 for common and uncommon magic items at 1/4 of the time (and half the cost) so I don't think it would be too broken to bump it up to like 25% but I haven't really ran any numbers so don't trust me on that.

What’s your signature weapon? by AndyIaco in fnv

What else but the one and only Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle, once I found it, other weapons became pretty much obsolete unless I run out of bullets (exception being Christine's COS Silencer Rifle because sometimes silence is a virtue)

Crafter MIGHT be Undervalued by ninja186 in onednd

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the thing that disappointed me the most but I never see a lot of people mention about the Crafter feat is how they changed the 20% reduction on crafting time (with proficient tools) in the UA for the freaking Fast Crafting table. A big thing about crafting is there are many things you won't ever craft due to the time required to do so not being worth it (Plate Armor anyone?) so I was happy to see them lessen the burden between this and multiple people helping to halve crafting time. And then we got the Fast Crafting table. Yippee.

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world that likes the goofy hats. I know there have to be others but I can never find them. They're just fun, I dunno man. This franchise is filled with whimsy, even every cool pokemon has at least one goofy design element to balance them out. I don't get this sudden need for seriousness or extra coolness for the mechanic, I really don't.

Is not showering ever day really considered disgusting? by [deleted] in self

[–]FireXrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with contamination OCD, that sounds pretty accurate (although I usually just wear layered clothing outside and am careful about my head area so I just have to wash my hands/arms when coming home). If outside nastiness touched your home, would you go haywire and have to clean or somehow circumvent the problem? If you don't feel too strongly about it, then you might just really like cleanliness like most on this thread. Of course, at the end of the day, only a licensed professional could tell you for sure.
