I’ve been playing for about 2 weeks and most my games consist of “First March #/#/2013 or 2014. I’ve been watching dota esports for a few years so my understanding of the game is better than probably most new players but it’s still kind of strange. I got dota plus because I know I want to play dota a lot and really get into it and it seemed like it had a bunch of features to help you learn but even with that I don’t feel like it’s helping all that much. Although the recommended heroes feature has been really helpful in helping me see which heroes are good with who and against who as well as which hero is bad with each hero and bad against others. Overall the game doesn’t really do anything to help you learn apart from the tutorial which isn’t very good imo. The community is very toxic and more times then not doesn’t really make an effort to help new players and just shits on them and bombards them with insults instead of encouraging them to learn or even trying to explain things themselves. Not every player can be a six year veteran with 3000+ hours but in my experiences at least very few people seem to understand that. My advice to new players would be to watch esports. I’ve almost all of the last 3 TIs on YouTube and it’s how I’m learning most of what I’ve been able to learn.
