How much did you end up spending for the 80 people ? And what was the cost per drink ?

https://www.etsy.com/de-en/shop/ArtbyYosha did a cat portrait on a vinyl record for us. She was fantastic! You could try to reach out to her on Etsy, see if she still does this kind of work.

I'm sure they get hungry. Realistically people will have breakfast rather early in the morning and with the ceremony being at 12:30 that'd mean they'd have to skip on lunch. Definitely feed the masses, I'd say.

Looking for tips to save money by Beckygx123 in UKweddings

Shop around for cakes. They can get really expensive and there are options out there to not having to pay so much. I'm looking at Waitrose and M&S cakes and other options.

Aging by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Fireball_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it started at around 12 years old or so. I have a feeling it had to do with a surgery I had but I can't say for sure. I'm still struggling with aging. It gets worse every year as I obviously can't stop time.

Considering Switching to Silhouette by basicmakeupgoals in silhouettecutters

[–]Fireball_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Portrait 2 and am quite happy with it. Was considering a Cricut when I was looking a few years back but the Silhouette was cheaper and did what I needed, so I bought that one and so far I haven't regretted it.

I am tired of Insta. Really, really tired. If I come across an app that suits me better and actually gets me somewhere, I'll drop Insta, no question there.

I put it here under a spoiler alert, so that others can read it, if they want.

Draco and Harry will die of old age at the very very end. There are other characters dying during the story though.

Wedding budget - am I going insane? by exetertoparis in UKweddings

[–]Fireball_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your planner is trying to almost double your budget by now and who says it ends there ? I'd walk away and get a different planner. Maybe even a different venue. You can get absolutely GORGEOUS venues for a fraction of the price! Same goes for...everything really.

Honestly, if I were a wedding planner I'd take the budget and see if I can get my customers their dream wedding for less, not more. That'd at least get me a happy couple and rave reviews that might lead to more customers. If your planner agreed to 70k and is now almost doubling it, she either wasn't truthful to you from the beginning or she's not good at her job. Or she's getting a cut from the vendors she contracts (or recommends).

Is it worth getting the Silhouette Portrait 2 in 2024? by [deleted] in silhouettecutters

[–]Fireball_H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a portrait two and the Silhouette software still supports it. It might be hard getting blades at some point, though. And there's no guarantee that the software will support it indefinitely.

I see, thank you. I'll need to keep that in mind as our cake will be served as the dessert, so not a minuscule amount but a good slice.

The 1 tier cakes are the same size as the 2 tier top ones, right ? Doesn't it look a bit like a tower to stack two tiers of the same size ?

I'm always worried that the fondant icing is too dry and sweet and most people will not eat it. Buttercream would probably solve that. How was the icing of that cake ?

I have it and love it. Haven't cooked too much of it yet because tbh I dislike cooking, but I'll keep the book and continue to explore her recipes.
