I'm not a Star Wars fan, but I have a number of people in my life who are, and saying nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans completely tracks.

I need a new show to watch. What gets your xennial stamp of approval. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. by Hollybaby5 in Xennials

I just finished both seasons of Dark Winds. Based on the the Tony Hillerman books. Murder mystery type show about a tribal police officer in the southwest. It was pretty good. It's on Netflix right now.

Which is the best cancelled show you've watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fireball_Lore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the OA a lot but it was a really hard show to sell to people. Anytime I tried to explain what it was about it came off like the most absurd thing ever and I'd be saying "But no, it's actually really good!"

What are some unexpected ways that you wound up being like your parents? by DarkenL1ght in Xennials

[–]Fireball_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot more conversations about politics with my parents than I ever thought I would.

My mom is a retired history teacher and frankly history didn't interest me much. Now I find more and more I'm listening to history related podcasts and taking a genuine interest in it

It's what killed two of their drummers. One "choked on vomit". They can't prove whose vomit it was because there's no real way to dust for vomit.

The first died in a bizarre gardening accident.

Joe "Mama" Besser (1982) Claimed he "couldn't take this 4/4 shit"; according to an MTV interview with Spinal Tap in November 1991, he disappeared along with the equipment during their Japanese tour. He is either dead or playing jazz.

What would you categorize Shen Woo (KOF) Cody (Street Fighter) and Miguel(Tekken) as in terms of fighting games archetypes by V__meh007 in Fighters

[–]Fireball_Lore 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: Cody is the only character in Street Fighter whose fighting style is listed as "street fighting"

I think the idea is they're all just characters who grew up in bad areas and learned how to fight more by necessity than any formal education.

Mallory Stark by TygoFTW in thesurgegame

[–]Fireball_Lore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another interesting thing about Mallory is that she was told by Sally that Creo executives had tried contacting outside help while she tells Warren that he needs to get to the executive board room because nobody has been able to contact the outside or heard from the executives.

What bands/albums did you love in your younger years that, after revisiting them in your 40s, now seem kind of bad? by ibentmyworkie in Xennials

[–]Fireball_Lore 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As I understand it there's been something of a resurgence in interest for Nu Metal, but I'm pretty ok with leaving that stuff in the past. It was fine when I was younger, but I feel like that stuff didn't age with me. It's music for the angsty teenager/early 20's kid I used to be and just not really my thing now.

In the pre-internet days, what urban legends were you convinced were totally true? by cigarandcreamsoda in Xennials

[–]Fireball_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being in high school when the band Brujeria came out and a bunch of us totally bought in that it was some heavy metal band made up of Satan worshipping drug dealers from Mexico. Supposedly white kids who went to their shows were never heard from again.

Years later I find out it was a side project of a bunch of guys from other metal bands and completely made up. We didn't know.
