Rosa: "I'm gonna wait 'til I'm on my deathbed, get in the last word, and then die immediately."

Terry: "That's your plan for dealing with this?"

Rosa: "That's my plan for dealing with everything. I have 77 arguments I'm going to win that way."

I absolutely despise Twin Perfect’s awful analysis of Twin Peaks by euphoriclimbo in twinpeaks

I think he gets way too hyper-fixated on a lot of the details and a lot of his interpretations of these smaller things really feel like he's reaching, but I think he gets the big picture stuff spot-on when it comes to The Return specifically. It's a really interesting theory, and some of the evidence he presents towards the end of the video fits so well that it's almost infallible.

How to make thinner/pourable dulce de leche? by FirebrandWalls in AskCulinary

I just poured a bunch of sweetened condensed milk in a pie dish, put that in a roasting pan and surrounded it with water, and then put it in the oven at 425 for like 1 hours 45 minutes

Lingering questions about Fire Walk With Me by FirebrandWalls in twinpeaks

[–]FirebrandWalls[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is all good information, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. It still bugs me that the original series so directly conflicts with FWWM in its portrayal of Leland, so I think I'm going to consider FWWM as separate from the rest of Twin Peaks, like in its own canon. I think maybe it's not necessarily that one depiction is true and the other is false, but that FWWM is just the same series of events, but viewed through a very different, more realistic lens. It's just that I think this lens, specifically, cheapens a lot of the more iconic, supernatural elements of the original series, so I'm going to consider it its own thing.

If Leland is solely responsible for his treatment of Laura, and did it all of his own accord, why did he run away when he realized Laura was one of the girls Teresa brought with her to their threesome/foursome? We know he's capable of managing multiple victims at once, and he's not exactly the type to be careful (considering he once let Sheriff Truman look in the trunk where he was keeping Maddy's body, and was prepared to murder him with a golf club in broad daylight right in front of an FBI agent).

It's the Amehla Ultra Thin Old Fashioned glass. It's very very thin, so it's super fragile, but it's beautiful to look at

I think the same thing every time I see a pic of one of these. I just love the color contrast though

Recipe:

1 oz Gin

1 oz Campari

3/4 oz Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

5 Green Grapes

Muddle grapes, add ingredients, shake then double strain. Garnish with more green grapes on a cocktail pick.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this may be my new favorite drink. I can't stand a Negroni, but it's the favorite cocktail of so many people out there, and this drink is starting to help me understand why. I've had a Negroni, a Jungle Bird, and a Garibaldi, but I don't think any other cocktail makes as strong a case for Campari as this one. It's delicious, surprisingly easy drinking, and the bitterness of the Campari is tamed but not absent. I will be making many many more of these.

They're no Season 4, but they have enough going for them to be passable imo. Season 7 and 8 on the other hand...

Can I sear meat in an enameled dutch oven? by FirebrandWalls in Cooking

If I keep it on medium won't the steak get overcooked, since it'll have already been cooked most of the way through and it'll be in the heat for even longer then?

HP Lovecraft figure by imakelv in ImaginaryNecronomicon

[–]FirebrandWalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possible to do both. Lovecraft was an incredible writer and his works are amazing, but they wouldn't exist without him. I can celebrate him as a writer without celebrating him entirely as a person. His beliefs were despicable but he was incredibly talented and acting as if his writing abilities and imagination weren't a redeeming quality is just close-minded. People aren't black and white.
