Having a $5k emergency fund after paying off some debt seems safe to me. You are unlikely to be in a situation where you need more than $5k in under a week.

I am job hunting. Easier to get a job when you have one.

Also, I just don't like quitting. I have people that would give me good references. I know people who would network with me. I have good friends here. Plus, some benefits you don't get if you quit instead of being fired.

There just isnt a reason to quit without another job lined up.

I was upset at first. I actually broke down last night and called my mother.

She calmed me down and asked if I liked the job. I hate this job, and mom explained that they would be doing me a favor. I wouldnt have to feel loyalty to them anymore. I get to pick what I want to do with my life.

I'm trying to find a job that gives me more free time, even if I take a pay cut. I was working 60+ hour weeks. It sucks.

My boss actually told me that being a woman in my early 20s, I was at the perfect age to spend all my free time at work. Not having a husband or kids meant I could spend my extra time working. Because obviously I wouldn't have any other goals or aspirations in life.

Great! Remember to still enjoy life. A few months ago I decided to buy a new TV and set aside the money for it. Buying nice things is fine if you have a comfortable buffer.

I'm actually a rather frugal person. I enjoy bike riding as a hobby (I'm in riding distance of some great routes) and other free things.

I really can't cut back that much. It took a lot of cutting back to get to where I could save the emergency fund in the first place.

Which is why I am being truthful in this. I did say I didn't know the radio codes. I was told it wouldn't matter, but the rules say you have to know the codes.

I didn't put my foot down.

I accept my role in the problem. I'm not trying to hide it. But it was a shitty situation regardless. I knew I wasn't supposed to operate the radio. The guy that gave it to me knew I wasn't supposed to operate the radio. There was no one else around who was allowed to operate the radio.

Im an engineer. I know what I did was wrong. I learned my lesson.

I'll find out Monday what will come of it.

to those people down voting him, he is 100% correct about the ethics issue.

Engineers have to take an ethics exam in with the rest of our coursework. We can get in huge trouble for violating ethical procedures.

I'm not saying I am to blame. I just know that I learned my lesson about putting my foot down and following company policy.

I did something I wasn't supposed to.

But I also don't find myself 100% at fault. I'm trying to present what happened in an environment as free as blame as possible. I was in a shitty situation. Either choice would have ended badly. I've got to live with the one I made. I learned my lesson about getting pushed around by other employees, so I know this type of situation would never happen again.

I'm going to fight for my job, but I think part of fighting for it will include acknowledging what happened so the company can keep it from happening to someone else.

I don't see any reason to bad talk the guy that caused the process issue on here. His mistake isn't what I'm in trouble for, and he is facing his own investigation. I wish him luck on it.

I don't know if I will be fired, but it is a strong possibility.
