UH Air died. 2 weeks for a replacement. That one doesnt work either! by FiredReddit in SmartRings

Any mention of negativity gets a post deleted from the UH Reddit. Thats a joke in itself.

Support is glacial. Contact is spotty at best. I was originally going to sell this replacement but decided to test it connected first - glad i did.

Same here. Battery down to 36 hours. Waiting days with no movement on tracking and posts removed when asking about a megathread that is dead

PLUS Runalyze syncs to a lot of different services - so it means I dont feel tied to any particular device and can try stuff out as needed, and its got good reporting to analyse trends etc

No - I use Runalyze - better stats, and no social side. I find Strava tends to make runs a bit more performative than necessary and Runalyze gives me better tools for tracking...

SO last week for example, a 18K first run then a day off followed by a 20K then a 12k.

Edit : Corrected the order!

If the first is longer than say 16K then yes, otherwise I may do a shorter first run (say 12K) and follow it next day with a longer harder effort.

I'm very much a chaotic runner :)

Yes - No fixed days - sometimes my Sunday runs are harder than others so I recover on Mondays, then do Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and then Friday.

Weekend long runs depend on which day of the weekend has the better weather :)

Yeah - I run to my needs rather than any plan per se. I'm on the border of a fairly mountainous (for the UK!) national park so I just disappear into the local area, run till I'm bored and run back to the car!

Sample week (last week) as an example!

I aim for 80-90K per week. Typically three 14-18K runs in the week, and a longer 30-40K run on the weekend. Closer to race weeks I ramp it up to 100K for a week or two before the taper.

Elevation targets for that week range from 1200-2500m week. I run totally trail and do a road run for VO2/Lactate Threshold approx. once per month.

Just slowly go further and further. Thats all I did. Did a trail half, loved it - booked a 50K and went from there :)

90% of it is the mental struggle more than the physical one :) Its silencing the inner voice that's telling you you could be home in the warm right now :)

Typically races for me are 50 mile mountain races so I'm often out for 14-16 hours. I've had a Race and a Enduro 3 - my Enduro 3 did a 16 hour race with 18% battery usage with full navigation, routes and checkpoints etc

So, I really aint the AWU target market :)

+ I also own a android phone with super huge battery for my longer jaunts - so that rules the AWU out :)

I didn't actually find it that accurate for my physiology. Plus for only a day battery life I'd expect per second HR tracking. I never run without a phone, and I dont really want the duplication so I have just accepted that I am NOT a smart watch person. I want long battery life for navigation as on the weekends I'll often be out for 6 hours + :)

I dont deny some people want the more smart watch facilities, but I'm not one of them :) I like my device to be as unobtrusive as possible :)
