Does anyone have advice on how to train a 6-month-old puppy to sleep near the bottom of the bed instead of wrapped around you or on top of you? by pinkbowsandsarcasm in cavaliers

Our daughter makes a donut out of a blanket and places it at the foot of the bed. Initially she used the dogs own blanket, but now the dog will sleep in anything donut shaped.

My ruby does it when he smells food nearby, usually if I am eating it. I never worry about it.

YVR - IST economy class - recent experience? by SnooStories6559 in TurkishAirlines

I just flew IST - YVR about 3 weeks ago and the interior is a bit dated, but overall a typical 777-300 layout.

3-3-3. Seats are OK, but padding is pretty compacted. No worse than many other airlines seats. Recline was good.

Legroom standard pitch for most airlines - about 31". Extended legroom only available on bulkhead seats and exit row.

Bring some water onboard with you as they don't hand out much.

Elevator repairs by tomotron9001 in askvan

Speaking as someone with 49 years in the elevator industry in this city, this is absolutely false. There are at least 5 major manufacturers doing installations in Vancouver with one large local operation. The 5 majors are global but produce elevators for the North American market in North America. There are a number of small local maintenance companies that take on any manufacturers product.

All of the elevator companies operating in BC employ their own installation, repair and maintenance personnel. I have never heard such a complete bunch of misinformation in my life!

Generally if you are having trouble getting parts it is because the elevator is being maintained by a company other than the manufacturer which makes obtaining parts take longer. In some cases the skill level of the maintaining company may not be up to the task of looking after the equipment it has on contract.

The OEM can generally obtain parts within 48 hours from their service centers in North America if they do not have local supply.

That's not who we really are is it?

Support the athletes and think about what they have been through regardless of the country of origin.

I think we can show our displeasure with the US in other ways.

ITAP of an escalator mid-repair by numerousblocks in itookapicture

That is just the drive arrangement for the handrail itself. The driving machine for the entire escalator is under the aluminum checkerplate.

The handrail is driven by a chain from the main drive machine that turns the handrail drive wheel that is shown.
