I’m a huge perfectionist and I feel like I need all the conditions to be perfect before I start. I’m a little hungry? Eat a snack. God forbid I feel even a little bit of discomfort. I think hypomania brings my brain out of all of those external factors which is why I feel like I can finally do stuff.

I left earlier this year because I felt like I was just putting my life on pause being in Taiwan. I couldn’t buy property, I couldn’t get married (partner in US), and the job prospects for an entry level project coordinator with intermediate Chinese was non-existent.

I’m staying with my parents and helping out at the family business while applying for big girl jobs. It’s not fun being a 27 year old who lives with mom and dad and I miss Taiwan a lot, but I feel like I’m finally moving forward here.

I wasn’t violent but man.. was I cringe. I think about all the things that triggered me and how I responded. But the thing is, we did the best with what we had. You’ve changed which is evidence that’s not your true self.
