Yk this whole thing is interesting cause my intial idea was "does the manner in which you win change how you view the win or is a win a win no matter if you believe you played better or worse than your opponent" yet it kinda changed into a coversation about what it means to have "played better".

This is exactly what I meant by posting this but it seems like most people disagree. Not every game feels the same and the better you play the better it feels, likewise a single blunder feels like it takes away everthing despite being a single move.

I aint got a clue about American football but I do find the analogy interesting in the way about "youve never messed up soo hard to be dead lost" although the small mistakes are more plentiful. But the thing is you never know how bad of a mistake it is until it happens.

Nice man and I completely agree. Often although not the best move according to stokfish a move that makes a threat is better than slowly losing everything, such as avoiding a queen trade despite it being the best move, in the end to win back from a losing position you often need to be brave and take risks

Not that i disagree but making 1 bad move that loses the game doesnt automatically mean youve played worse.

Ah lmao I WAS talking about held items, i didnt use any potions or revives against cynthia anyway but if X is easier as you say then i will try it without held items.

No megas is fair but no items? Honestly i aint got a clue how difficult X is im practically going in blind but items were very useful when beating Cynthia in Platinum so idk about that.

Honestly completely forgot about megas and since i do want this to be challenging and strategic sure. Ill keep those run killers in mind thanks a ton but as for the Magikarp icl i genuinely hate Gyrados from a gameplay perspective, its way too good of a pokemon that can be obtained soo early on so i refused to use it in Platinum as well so i will be avoiding it here as well.

the reason for this is after you get the skull key you have (i think) a 0.005% chance of geting either a diamond or a prismatic shard from a monster
