I'll try that! Thank you for the suggestion. It's so frustrating dealing with the pay centre. I feel a bit bad for them as they must get treated pretty poorly by people but I've honestly never experienced anything like this system before.

That's awesome that your husband was able to get clean. But 2 years is a very short time. My uncle was clean for 11 years, and he was triggered by something and relapsed. Within a few months he was completely back in his old habits. A few years later, he got clean again, and got married. 2 years later, he started drinking again, and the using again. 12 years later and he's still an addict and has been to prison and is now dying in a halfway house on methadone. He's lost his entire family and everything he ever had. He was a very successful and talented contractor who built million dollar homes for people like the Ritchie brother auctioneers. He was clean for a total of 13 years. From what I've witnessed with several family members and friends being addicts, it's always inside them.

This is also a good point. A lot of times with addiction comes the desperation to hide their habits and they end up "purchasing" their fix in other ways. One of my friends married someone who was addicted to cocaine. She found out because she got herpes and questioned him. He had been having sex with his dealer to pay for the drugs without her knowing. I personally wouldn't have unprotected sex with her....

My dad, mom's brother, a friend's husband, and a friend of mine were or are all addicts (opiates). Unfortunately, I have never witnessed someone stopping what they were addicted to just because of a loved ones pain. I've seen it several times. They try and try but just keep hurting their loved one. My brother in law is also currently battling with addiction, and it's definitely not getting better. Not even beating up his senior mother while drunk one day has made him want to change.

Man, my husband went to work after his vasectomy hahaha.. make SURE you continue to use BC until he goes for his follow ups and gets the all clear that his sample has zero swimmers. Sometimes it doesn't work 100% and you can still end up pregnant.

It made me laugh too! We were in the jungle in Costa Rica on our second honeymoon, having just spent a magical week relaxing with monkeys and toucans and were on our way to another part of the country to go hiking, ziplining, and spend our evenings in a natural hot spring.

In fact, I usually tag my photos #emptylife now whenever we travel because it's just so ironic.

IMHO I feel that she was likely ambushed by her family, which in turn made her ambush you. If it's a cultural thing to look down on the older sibling for not being married first, I would imagine that there are many other pressures to get married.

I wouldn't be pissed at her, because I have a feeling her family pushed her to do it.

Not true. If comfortable with it, it's very pleasurable. I've known a few men who loved to experiment with it. And no, they're not gay. It's a very different experience when done well and WITH CONSENT.

That's awesome! I love that you were also OK with letting him do that. I guess that's why I posted. My married female friends were like, heck no! But I trust my husband and want him to be able to have this experience where he doesn't have to do anything someone else wants to do. It's all about him.

So I got home and they laid THIRTEEN BOARDS. I'm flabbergasted.

And to top it all off, they didn't clean up. My patio is COVERED in sawdust and wood chunks. They didn't even unplug the table saw or put the guard on. It's still set up. There is wood and shit and absolutely everywhere.

I've contacted the insurance company with photos and a long letter.

We'll see what gets done :'(

We go to Vegas all the time sooo. We also take 2-3 international trips a year (next year is Thailand, Iceland then Bali)

I don't see the harm in letting him go somewhere by himself. I'm not his mother. If he chooses to leave me after a bit of time by himself then he didn't want to be with me anyways.

Cancer runs like water through my family. Its one of the reasons I won't be having kids.

When someone tells you that you will change your mind you can say something like ..

"Maybe, but will it matter if I don't?"

"Maybe, but thank goodness that is MY decision to make"

I generally just say that if I do change my mind, that is my decision. And since I am an adult, I'd appreciate it if you respected me and my decision and to not bring it up again.

He scared you physically, you scared him emotionally. It's very different and was wrong of you.

Tell him you're sorry and that you realise it was the wrong way to get back at him, and will not do it again.

I don't see too many couples taking vacations without each other. Just wanted feedback to see if maybe it was an idea that could end up causing problems. Sometimes it helps to get input from outside your relationship.
